2023.05.31 01:45 Far-Horse9516 Help with Rash
Age: 35, Female, Ht. 5’9 Wt. 195. No last medical history. Medications: Nuvaring (been on for 15 years), Semaglutide/b12 weekly injection (started may 1st).
Last Saturday 5/21 I awoke with small itchy bumps that later developed into this current rash. My husband also woke up that am with itchy bug bitten legs (he had down the lawn the day before). I had a minor panic attack and checked our bedroom for bed bugs but saw no evidence. I also then thought maybe scabies because of what my husbands leg looked like. But both of our “bite” areas are secluded to the one area. My right elbow and his left leg. No other areas involved.
The tiny bumps progressively got worse for me and formed into this rash. My arm is not itchy unless I rub it on something abrasive. And no night scratching. My husband on the other hand is very itchy.
I was seen by telehealth who diagnosed it as a fungal rash, prescribed steroid cream and antifungal but no improvement. Today I saw a dermatologist in person because again I was convinced it was scabies. She felt it and looked at it as well as the photo of my husbands leg and said no it’s not, it’s contact dermatitis. Prescribed me a stronger prescription steroid cream.
Nothing in my life had changed… except I forgot I started taking a Semaglutide/b12 compound 5 weeks ago. Could this rash be drug related? I really hope not because I’ve been very successful on this medication. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Photos in comments include progression of my rash and my husbands leg.

2023.05.31 01:39 medoolaoblongata [19F] I took a delta 8 marijuana edible on Friday night and it sent me into a horrible trip. Still feeling effects of it 4 days later and am in agony. What do I do?
I don’t really feel like typing all my symptoms out again but my other posts about it are linked
here and
here. Main symptoms now are panic attacks , severe brain fog, feeling disconnected from my body, and feeling like my brain is melting. I don’t know if I should go to the ER tonight and what they would do for me there. I’m kind of scared that my insurance (blue cross blue shield) wouldn’t pay for it. I also don’t want to be put in a psych ward. Also I’m on 20 mg of prozac and haven’t taken my meds since Friday morning and I’m scared to start taking them again because it might make it worse. I’ve called out of work today and I have work again on Thursday. If I call out again thursday, I need a doctors note. What would an ER doc write? I don’t want my boss to know what I’m actually going though. I really just want to be given xanax or something to calm me down. I don’t know. Please advise.

2023.05.31 01:28 Creepy-Soil2698 Extremely complex abusive situation with my narcissistic maniac mother.
So I 16[F] live with my narcissistic mother and it's awful. She used to be extremely physically abusive before but after some time of me constantly avoiding her, she has stopped it completely. But her emotional abuse is still there, in fact, it has gotten worse.
I've dropped out of school so I stay in my room the whole day, I never used to get out of it because of my mother. But after months of just staying there, I started to feel suffocated and lonely to the point I started experiencing awful hallucinations and nightmares. I needed to get out of my room asap, so I started going to the living room where my mother and younger sister are to feel less suffocated and lonely. At first, it was fine but after some time her abuse started and it was insufferable. I decided to just stay in my room and not go to the living room. But the suffocation, loneliness, hallucinations, and nightmares were just too much.
So I started going to the living room again. At first, I endured her emotional abuse for days. If you wanna know what she says, she accuses me of secretly sleeping with my father and trying to replace her. She absolutely hates my father and abuses him as well but she for some reason is jealous of me and thinks I'm trying to steal her place. She even accuses my younger sister, who's literally only SEVEN years old, of sleeping with my father and has given her awful bruises because of that. All of this is because she also has some sort of schizophrenic disorder which makes everything even worse.
So after days of enduring her abuse, today, I finally snapped back. I went to her, and out of anger, hit her so hard on the head that she started bleeding. (I didn't mean to do that at all) She was fine but hurt and she was terribly angry and started hitting me really out of there and yelled before closing the door, "You deserve this because you've given me way worse injuries in the past. This is your karma." Because she has physically abused me way worse in the past millions of times and never apologized.
The next day, I got no food and water. And during night time I went to meet my father, she attacked me out of no where and we got into a huge fight and she tore off my clothes and gave me a lot of bruises. I tried to call child services but I live in India, which is one of the worst countries for child abuse survivors so it didn't work. Thankfully, my sister was safe.
Now, I definitely think I was wrong for not controlling my urges and hitting her which led to all this mess. Narcissists bring out the worst in their victims because that's what they want. By reacting like that, the victim is just giving what they want. Further continuing the abuse. But I just wonder whether I was wrong OVERALL. Was she justified in what she did? Now I'm depressed and anxious. I don't know what to do, l can't even get out of my room anymore. Knowing she'll probably attack me.

2023.05.31 01:28 Kimba93 Activism for men's issues and feminism
I don't see how both have to be in conflict with each other. Not a single men's issue is in any way seriously fought by feminists. The reason why there are conflicts between MRA and feminists seem to be that the MRM started as movement against feminism, as Warren Farrell said himself about feminism:
In America and in most of the industrialized world, men are coming to be thought of by feminists in very much the same way that Jews were thought of by early Nazis.
This pretty much does sound like an extremely negative view of feminism. But where did MRA and feminists actually disagreed about real-life issues? I get it, the historical view that there was a patriarchy is a disagreement, but this is a historical debate and no matter what people say it has no influence at all on today's real-life issues. Does anyone think that tradcons who laugh about patriarchy theory and wish the "good old times" back somehow have more empathetic views about men's issues? Another disagreement is surely the whole view that men are so suffering because of the dating market. This might be another real disagreement, but as long as you don't want to actually force women to marry incels, I don't see reasons to fight a lot about it.
Other issues have absolutely no conflict potential if they are not just used at whataboutism against feminism:
- Male victims of domestic violence. There's zero evidence that Erin Pizzey or Earl Silverman got attacked by feminists, the "Duluth model" did never deny the existence of male victims. Feminists don't deny the existence or are blocking help for male victims of DV.
- Male rape victims. Again, feminists are not fighting against help for male rape victims. People here probably know about Lara Stemple, a feminist who did a lot of research on male rape victims. She has of course not been attacked by feminists.
- Circumcision. This is weird, of course feminists never attacked any anti-circumcision activists. Most of the critics against feminists seem to be "Why don't feminists speak up about circumcision?" But why do feminists have a responsibility to organize the movement against it?
- Male-only draft. Feminism is one of the most anti-war movements ever, they didn't support a draft for anyone and they sure as hell don't want to install an (actual) draft for anyone again. Literally the least possible disagreement here.
The same is true for other things that are often described as men's issues (suicide, violent crime, etc.), none of them have any inherent conflict potential with feminism. I don't know why there seems to be the idea that pro-male advocacy has to be against feminism. I see two ways how this idea is often pushed:
- Some quotes from feminists that somehow sound dismissive of a men's issue are cited as the "leading view" of feminism, when in fact they're not.
- Actual adversaries like conservatives who support the male-only draft or mass incarceration are just ignored, there is much, much less anger against them.
Of course, as I said, this is true if these issues are not used as whataboutism against feminism. For example: The organization
1in6 is active for male rape victims, and they don't use any anti-feminist rhetoric. So obviously there's no hate between them and feminists. Just like Lara Stemple didn't got hate or all the others who talk about
male rape victims without attacking feminism. The same is true for the organization
1in3, who is active for male victims of domestic violence, they don't use anti-feminist rhetoric so again, there's no hate between them and feminists. Feminists have
embraced the opening of male-only shelters and many do help men in shelters that are open for men. There's no inherent conflict between feminism and men's issues.
The only way someone could be attacked for activism for any of these issues is if he uses them against feminism. For example, while talking about male victims of DV, saying: "Feminists have tried to hide the truth and attacked everyone who speaks out, but here is the reality about the issue!", this will be seen as anti-feminism and not as pro-male activism. If Terry Crews would have used his victimization to attack feminists, he would have lost any support. The same is true for all other causes:
- Imagine if someone said "We always talk about the suffering of poor blacks and accept BLM looting cities, but no one cares about working-class whites in the Rust Belt!" Congratulations, you just lost all support for your cause. People would see that you are just attacking black activists and not being "for working-class whites."
- Imagine if someone said "People always say how men who work in the military or the police deserve respect despite them being killers, but no one cares about poor single mothers!" Congratulations, you just lost all support for your cause. People would see that you are just attacking the military and police and not being "for single mothers."
- The same way, everyone who uses a men's issue to attack feminism will lose support. People will see that they are just against feminism and not "for men."
I have to admit, there are sometimes cases where some feminists seem to attack activism for men's issues for the sake of it, like when Warren Farrell's talk about mental health was attacked in Toronto. But this is a good example: I fundamentally disagree with what they did and think they should be ashamed of themselves, but Farrell was not attacked because he wanted to talk about men's mental health - he was attacked because of his
viciously anti-feminist rhetoric (again, I don't support attacking him). It's just plain wrong to say that "no one can talk about men's mental health, feminists will attack you", there are multiple organizations like Movember and social activism that do bring light to the issue and of course don't get attacked, so again, activism for men's mental health doesn't need to be in conflict with feminism. The reality is: It's extremely easy to gain empathy and be active for men. People just have to want it. To make it as clear as possible:
- If male advocates would start a hashtag #BelieveMen to focus on male rape victims and their stories, feminists will not fight you.
- If male advocates would organize to start to open shelters for male victims of abuse, feminists will not fight you.
- If male advocates would stage walk-outs from high school and college to protest against the male-only draft, feminists will not fight you.
- If male advocates would start big campaigns to raise awareness about the negative effects of circumcision, feminists will not fight you.
Activism for real-life men's issues doesn't have to be against feminism in the slightest. There's no reason to fight between them.

2023.05.31 01:23 minominmi I will hand in my notice tomorrow and not show up again even though I'm scheduled for this and the next week
I've been working in this small clothing store for a year but have been in customer service for 4 years now. It sucks but I want to start uni this year and I need to pay for it somehow.
I live in a small town so there aren't many options. I was happy here for most of the time until their budget got cut. I'm barely making money and I'm only working with my boss these days. 95% of the people here are part-time workers too and I'm rarely scheduled with them which sucks. We're around the same age and it's fun to work with them.
I thought that working with my boss would be fun too because she always seemed funny and kind but I was wrong. She's just another two faced bitch. The apprentice tried to warn me too. Let's call my boss F.
F is fucking lazy. She always finds a reason not to work. She needs to pee and disappears for 30mins. She tries on different clothing and interrupts me while I cash someone to ask me if she looks good. She wastes time on stupid shit that isn't priority so I can focus on anything that needs to get done fast. It could be her turn to clean but she randomly remembers to do some paperwork and disappears again and I'm alone for an hour to finish 4 tasks at once. Then it's time for her break. She still has the audacity to stress me out whenever we're running out of time when she hasn't done shit. She trash talks everyone. It's weird. I was also accused of pretending to be sick when I had tonsillitis. The next two weeks will be hell. I'm surprisingly scheduled to work almost every day. It's just me and my boss and maybe an apprentice. I'm already losing my mind.
I got another job almost 100% secured. Gonna sign the contract soon and I'll start in July after my 3 week vacation. I'm thinking of handing in my notice tomorrow at work and just not show up again.
I was also weirdly attacked by an elderly coworker today. She's working like once a month and is extremely slow. I had to finish most of her tasks because she took forever to organize one small area. I wasn't cleaning "properly"
"You'd be in a lot of trouble if I was your boss"
We clean on a surface level because there's just no time. She doesn't clean and she can't work on the register either. She pissed me off and I had to stop myself from calling her an old and bitter hag.

2023.05.31 01:18 Jasensational 3 Yasuo Decks to take to the Eternal Ladder!
| Eternal ladder is back, and so is everyone's favorite Samurai stun boy! My name is Jasensational, your friendly neighborhood 90k mastery Yasuo enjoyer, and I'm here today to introduce you to 3 different concepts to play Yasuo! Starting with the classic: Yasuo Katarina [[CECACAQDBEBAMAQKBYBQCAQIBQHQGAIDFIXDOAYBAEBDCAICAICQEBYCCEKAIAIEAIKACBYCCMAQOAYOAIBQECIU]] Yasuo Katarina is the age old classic; this deck utilizes Katarina's rally and recall mechanic to snowball games with Fae Bladetwirler and Windswept Hillock, knocking down opponents with big quick attack units. Noxus is also one of the best stun regions, housing Ravenous flock and arachnoid sentry, while giving good early game tools such as house spider. The best version of Yasuo imo if you're looking to win games. Yasuo Aphelios [[CIBQEAICBAHQEAYJJHMQCAQGAIFA4BYBAIBAKAIDBELQCBAJBUAQMCJGAIAQEDBRAIDQEEIUAIDQSAIDAEBAGCJD3QAQ]] Yasuo Aphelios utilizes Aphelios' weapon, Gravitum, to quickly level up Yasuo and provide good board control in the early game. Severum can sustain against aggro, and infernum on a big Fae Bladetwirler buffed through Gravitum can end games. Like Noxus, Targon also has good stun support, with the likes of Solari Sunhawk and Falling star, in addition to one of the best anti aggro cards, Cosmic Youngling, as well as the game ender, Winding Light. If you are feeling nostalgic for the Sad boy duo, this is your way to go. Yasuo Vayne [[CECACAICB4AQMAYXAIDAACQVAMDAECQOEIDACAYCBEAQMAALAEDAEFYCAEBAQMICAIBAKCACA4BBCFABAEDAAGA]] And finally, my diabolical creation, Yasuo Vayne. Like Katarina, we want to be abusing Windswept Hillock to its fullest capacity, except with Scout units and Tumble. With a Ranger Knight Defector, Windswept Hillock, and Yasuo, we can do some serious damage to both the enemy's board and Nexus. Tumbling a scout unit also counts as a rally, proccing Windswept Hillock's ability. This deck is a super fun, high synergy deck, but is unfortunately the weakest of the lot, as a lot of cards in the deck has gotten nerfed since its release. However, if you are looking for an extra splash of spice, might I recommend checking it out. Some Quick General Tips - Leveling Yasuo is the priority in most situations, however it doesn't always mean that Yasuo is something you want to keep in mulligans. He's not great level 1 but pops off level 2. However, in matchups where the opponent plays a lot of small units, or can't deal with Yasuo very easily, he's not bad.
- Try to play Hillock on your opponent's attack turn. This maximizes your stuns and speeds up your Yasuo level up. Exceptions to this are if you have leveled Kat, a scout unit, or need to just kill an unit with Yasuo on board.
- Know what's important to save. It's not going to be Yasuo all the time. With stuns and Windswept hillock on the board, you don't need Yasuo to kill the units to win the game, as you can just stunlock them anyways. Maybe Katarina's rally is more important to close out a game. Use your denies and recalls carefully.
- Play for Tempo. All 3 of the decks are beatdown decks that will pressure your opponent with every attack turn.
I'll keep it here for now, but if you have any specific questions regarding decks, card choices, matchups, whatnot, happy to help a fellow Yasuo enjoyer out! Hope you try them out and let me know what you think :) If you want to catch some games, I stream over at https://www.twitch.tv/ja3en3ational feel free to drop on by submitted by Jasensational to LegendsOfRuneterra [link] [comments] |

2023.05.31 01:10 clapped____ Why does what other people do affect you?
A few things; this is a general question regarding the state of games, mostly MMOs but, D4 is leaning towards an MMO in a way. With Diablo Immortal and how it could potentially impact D4 though, I also think it's pretty relevant here. I'd post it in the MMO sub but, chances are they delete it anyway and, Like I said I do believe it is relevant.
What I mean is, why do you hate the inclusion of 'XP boosts', 'Buying to max level', being able to pay for gear repairs maybe etc? I think I'm gonna get downvoted for this but, I don't see the issue.
I know how common this practice is in the MMO space, I've spent a lot of time in that space but, ALWAYS doing PVE content and usually always alone. None of my friends have gotten into MMOs and I don't make friends in them. Anyway, what I'm getting at is, as someone who doesn't interact with ethers in the online games. I don't care whether that random guy has levelled to max or paid to max, i don't care if he is levelling faster because he paid etc. I don't see why it matters.
But, as I stated I'm a loner in these games, does it matter to someone who is trying to be involved and interact and if so, why? It seems weirdly egotistical to me. Not attacking anyone. What I mean is, it comes across as "I earnt my gear, he didn't so mine is/I'm better" or "My sense of achievement comes from the validation of showing it off to others" which all seem weird to me. If you can buy max level, it doesn't make your free grind any less valuable.
I think PVP is different but, not always bad. I think, if the matchmaking is good, it doesn't matter. If it puts similar levels against each other it doesn't matter if he paid or earnt it, you have the same gear. If the matchmaking doesn't do that then yeh, fuck that. Diablo, and this post, aren't really about PVP though so.
Looking for genuine input, I'm not meat riding some company, I just see people withholding on buying D4 because Blizzard might add these types of mtx's (I personally doubt they will) and i don't see why, those types of purchases can put you off the rest of the game.

2023.05.31 01:07 Remth2_0 Plagiarism war. IPHONE vs ANDROID
| Good community. In the technological world, copies of APP or programs are very popular. In this case the news I am talking about is the beginnings of IPHONE and ANDROID. This during the late 00s and early 10s had great stirs. At that time began what today seems usual smart Smartphone. Although the first to start this technological revolution was APPLE had its replica by GOOGLE. Taking into account that many applications do the same, but in different media, APPLE attacked GOOGLE for copying APP. This triggered great judgments and marked an after in technology. STEVE JOBS of that attempt to stop GOOGLE, but the truth is that the two brands have more than 90% of the market share and even work on some projects together to improve smartphone services. Technology stories. I look forward to your doubts, questions and comments. 2023.05.31 00:59 MysteriousmoonUK Navigating life is hard.
Hi all,
Never really used Reddit for this sort of thing I've usually just read things quietly.
I'm 34 years old and recently got diagnosed with C-PTSD after I was hit by a car at a zebra crossing. This whole ordeal has lead me to sadly feel distrustful of the world and constantly like I am going to die most nights for a various selection of reasons ( accidentally overdosing on my pain medication, accidentally drinking bleach, heart attack, seizures etc) none of these things are real but do seem to be triggered from when I am having flashbacks of the accident.
I've had re-occurant trauma since when I was a child, unfortunately being raised by a very abusive father who suffered from PTSD himself after a patient escaped from a mental hospital and jump in front of my dad's car this being killed Accidentally by my dad. My dad never recovered from it, and while he was always abusive beforehand, the beatings became significantly worse after this man decided to hurl himself into my dad's car. Eventually at 16 I had no choice but to call the police on my dad myself, as I could no longer dad being beaten or abused or watching him abuse my mother. It was the single most hardest thing I had to do, as even till today the love I have for my dad is very much there, I just could not stand the abuse anymore and living in fear.
I eventually met my now husband and he has been my rock ever since. He is a good husband and a good father. Eventually I left my family home and moved in with him and had 3 beautiful children whom I adore. These babies are my life and while I find them difficult ( 2 have autism as well as myself ) there isn't anything I wouldn't do for them the are my life.
In 2016 I sadly was abused in sexual manner ( I don't want to get into too much as it's still very painful) by someone who I thought was a close friend of mine and was my friend. That really knocked me for six shits as my husband had warned me about him but I like to believe the best in people and give them a chance. So it was a shock when this very close friend of mine treated me like this

2023.05.31 00:57 AlastarOG To Finish or not To Finish: A discussion about Swashbucklers
Hi all, AlastarOG here, those who know me from the Paizo board probably know me from such heated discusssions as ''Why does everyone seem to love the monk when I hate them'' or more conservatively ''
Stated Settlement Compilation'' I've GM'ed a lot of swashbucklers through my time as a PF2e Enthusiast, but never played one, and as I was Barbecuing today I had a thought.... When is it appropriate to conserve your panache ? Most of the player's I've seen play swashies tend to overprioritize finishers over everything else, even Nonat1's recently said something like ''As a swashbuckler it's all about landing that one finisher and then tumbling through'' in a recent video.
So I took ye olde Excel out. (Btw this has maybe been done already, I'm just feeling lazy and didn't do a complete due dil)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JS9hH5PiACwJc-2LpLobp7_IlJ0xa2LmfLv4oXbkoBY/edit?usp=sharing My scenarios compare a rapier swashy (for simplicity) who starts a round with Panache, next to an opponent (a rather common scenario).
I compare three strategies:
- Finisher at your highest MAP, and then two actions, possibly to regain Panache.
- Strike with your panache bonus, then finisher, then another action (Most likely to regain Panache)
- Strike three times
At level 6, I continued the comparison, but this time I included a 50% chance you'd trigger a reaction (either AoO or Opportune Riposte).
At level 10, I continued the comparison, but this time I included a 100% chance you'd trigger a reaction once (since most swashies get the extra opportune riposte reaction, and that means you have a chance to strike up to two additional times, but we'll average it to 1 attack)
Now obviously this isn't all encompassing, but I find that the results speak for themselves.
At all levels, it is better, on average, to strike 3 times against an equal level opponent, without using finishers. ''But'', you say, ''AlastarOG'' I interrupt you
Please call me Al, ''But'' you resume ''Al, why is that? Aren't finishers an explosion of delicious dice rolling that make all monsters go boom?''
Well yeah.... they are! And that's why people go for them most of the time, they're fun! And hey if that's your cup of tea then you go for it!
My point here is more to nuance the use of finishers throughout a Swashy's adventuring career.
If you're playing a swashy, you should not discount the power of keeping Panache, for a few reasons:
- Panache is Hard to get! While we all hope to get Panache with that first action, it can take 2 or 3 or gods forbid 4 tries to get Panache! Especially against higher level opponents! When you have it, you shouldn't squander it!
- Panache makes you overall better at your core efficiency: Don't forget that Panache gives you a +1 Circumstance bonus to your core skill checks, and while circumstance bonuses are easy to get for intimidation (looking at you intimidating prowess), for athletics, diplomacy, acrobatics or deception they can be rarer or include some gimmick. If you add Derring Do on top of that, keeping Panache becomes much more relevant.
- Panache makes you faster!: Having the same speed, or more, as a monk can be great, and you shouldn't discount the tactical advantages it gives you, especially in a difficult terrain heavy environment or when tumbling through a huge or colossal opponent.
- As demonstrated, applying precise strike basic damage potentially 3 or 4 times is better on average than one big time through a finisher.
So yeah, this isn't a groundbreaking paper, I'm not hoping to get a Nobel prize or anything (although you know... feel free to submit my name to the committee! ) ...Just... you know, next time you're playing a swashy, consider your options before excitedly blowing your wad at the earliest opportunity like a 14 year old boy left alone at home going incognito mode on the web.
My 2 cents, discuss if you want.

2023.05.31 00:54 CrazyBirdLady24 My friend doesn’t want to be my friend anymore, I’m too much for her
I’m sorry to vent to random strangers, my life has been an absolute nightmare. The anxiety, the depression, the fear, the constant panic I cannot take this anymore. It has ruined my life and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I can barely do anything, go to the store, exercise. Everything scares me and I just want to stay home and rest. I don’t know what I did to deserve this and if I knew I wish I could go back and fix whatever I did wrong. I wish I could go back to a time when I felt normal. Every day, from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed I’m scared if I’ll have a full blown panic attack. I’m scared all always be this way, I have no idea what’s wrong with me I just want to be normal again.
Today I talked with a friend of mine I’ve known from high school and she told me that she wants me to move out because she feels like this has been a one sided friendship. She took me in when I had no where to go and it’s been too much for her. She just wants her space and she doesn’t feel responsible for me as she’s felt like she’s needed to rescue me as she’s done in the past too. We’ve grown apart and she doesn’t want me being with her anymore. I feel so awful, I never wanted to cause any problems. I just wish I could do things on my own and be mentally able to support myself so I didn’t have to drag others in my mess. It’s been so hard, so hard I can’t really even hold much of a verbal conversation anymore. I don’t know how to feel and I’m questioning all my friends, and my boyfriend. I don’t want to be seen as a leech. I don’t have a good relationship with my family which explains a lot, im sure im just a problem too. I hate being such a problem. I’m so lost, I can’t do this anymore. I just wish things were better

2023.05.31 00:53 AutoNewspaperAdmin [National] - 'We're being attacked': Jurors hear 911 call in Pittsburgh synagogue assault as trial begins USA Today
2023.05.31 00:52 54ltymuch Re-Structuring the MCU from the ground up - Phase Two
For those who haven't read the first phase, here's a
link. I want to thank the people who upvoted and the ones who commented, I thought this sub would be tired of cinematic universe re-writes by now but I'm glad to see that my take on it is fresh and appreciated! Now, let's move into phase two of this universe.
Schedule - Captain America: Out of Time
- The Wolverine: Brothers in Arms
- Excalibur
- Iron Man
- The Brotherhood of Mutants
- The Uncanny X-Men (Cyclops' team)
- Daredevil
- X-Corporation
- The New Mutants (Xavier's team)
- The Groundbreaking Giant-Man
- Fantastic Four: Rising Storm
- The Avengers: Age of Ultron
This phase keeps the mutants separated in their factions so that the phase three final event can feel larger in scale and more earned, and rather focuses on building up the Avengers.
Captain America: Out of Time
This movie is about the Winter Soldier story arc. We've already seen the mystery aspect of the whole Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier thing and Bucky wasn't introduced in the first film properly so I would avoid the mystery, rather skip straight to expositing to Steve that Bucky is back and deal with the emotional ramifications. Crossbones and Aleksander Lukin play the same roles they do in the comic arc, a side and the main antagonist respectively, Crossbones is a bit of a one-and-done. We will replace Union Jack's role in the original story with Ian Zola to continue their surrogate fatheson relationship, but Union Jack will be present at the end of the story in a post-credit scene joke.
This is a bit asshole-y of me but I want it to be out in the dirt-sheets that Captain Britain has been cast and may appear in the new Captain America film. We set that up and have someone like Taron Egerton on set for the film in 'leaked' pictures, and we finally have him show up after the credits, only for him to reveal himself to be Union Jack... and that's it. He probably won't show up in any other project again.
The Wolverine: Brothers in Arms
The movie starts with cameos from Cyclops and Iceman alongside Wolverine, showing Wolverine deciding not to stand by Scott's side and leave Scott's X-Men.
This is the start of the formation of X-Force, we have a couple of extra characters alongside Wolverine: namely Colossus and
Deadpool. To be clear, this Deadpool is the same one from the Untitled Deadpool sequel, so he can continue to make meta jokes about the universe and try to bounce off of the new Colossus everytime he forgets its not the one he first interacted with in the first two Deadpool films. The main antagonist is a mysterious group moving behind the scenes to take down political enemies of mutantkind, who are using Nightcrawler and the newly introduced Spider-Woman to get things done, as well as Kitty Pryde, who audiences as of now still think left with Scott. This catches the attention of Moira, who is involved with the British intelligence at this point in time and passes word to a 'friend', later found out to be Psylocke.
The group is revealed to be Worthington Industries, as Warren Worthington III is behind it all (can't call him Angel because he isn't really powered anymore with his wings gone). He is eventually shut down but isn't killed.
Post-credits: Psylocke introduces the now unaffiliated Nightcrawler, Spider-Woman and Kitty Pryde to the idea of joining her team of mutant defenders and introduces them to their leader: Captain Britain. Excalibur, here we go!
Excalibur
Roster: Captain Britain, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, Spider-Woman
This film is basically Kingsman but less spy and even more British. Our main villain is Modred the Mystic, and I would have him and a couple of minor antagonists working for him all played by BBC legends. Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson, the works. This film is basically a love letter to old BBC comedies and thespian culture, maybe some more cameos from actors who were in the IT Crowd, Yes Minister, BlackAdder and the like. Get Matthew Vaughn he knows how to balance British humour with an action plot he's done it quite a bit and we've had him in the universe already. There's room for social commentary about the villains all having south English accents and being played by actors all associated with that posh background too.
We have a smaller role from Black Knight too, he plays a part in fighting Modred but he isn't an official member of the team, more of a wildcard.
Iron Man
This will be an adaptation of the Demon in a Bottle storyline. Unlike Iron Man 2 it will not be a side plot but rather the focus of the film, as we've already seen Tony fight physical threats similar in skillset to himself a lot.
Ideally I want to bring Sam Rockwell back as an older Justin Hammer putting together a set of smaller villains - Blizzard, The Melter and Whiplash. We have Henry Gyrich and Nick Fury in small roles, as well as the Wasp and Namor making cameos similar to their roles in the original Demon in a Bottle comic arc.
I want Tony's emotional turmoil to bleed over into his personal life too, so we have Bethany Cabe and Pepper Potts both in the film, Potts just as his personal assistant while Cabe is the one he is in an actual relationship with. But it's clear that Tony has some reservations about Bethany and may be falling for Pepper. Rhodey is in this film too to give him some platonic support to lean on but no mentions of War Machine. A couple extra footnotes, Jarvis is a physical butler like in the comics, not an AI, and Tony does not go public with his identity.
The film ends with, yes, Hammer in jail, and two out of the three side villains dead (Whiplash survives and is in custody), but the real victory comes when Tony gets over his alcoholism. I don't want to insist upon any specific story beats, but getting someone like Dexter Fletcher to direct would be perfect as his work on Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman shows a deep understanding of egoist, narcissistic but undoubtedly talented people falling into substance abuse. That is the real core of this film and it's okay if the physical antagonists fall to the way-side for it.
The Brotherhood of Mutants
Magneto starts a cult in Latveria based around mutants being the next step in humanity's evolution. Members of the cult are Rogue, Mystique, Toad, Pyro and his twin children Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. I would get someone like Greta Gerwig in on this who can create scripts that study characters inside and out as this movie should focus a lot more on the complexity of all the morally grey characters than any actual fights between the characters.
This obviously raises the eyebrow of Victor von Doom (who was already introduced in F4 if you recall), and the two ideologies clash. While Doom is not the outright villain in this film as both sides have problems, it's more a mix of grey. Magneto does 'lose' as Doom kills Pyro and warns Magneto to leave Latveria which Erik complies with. The film ends with Colossus hearing about the 'brotherhood', misinterpreting it as a school like Xavier's, and introducing Erik to his sister: Magik.
Uncanny X-Men
Established Roster: Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Kitty Pryde
New Members: Armor, Gambit, Blink, Sunspot, Havok
This film basically begins with Kitty leaving the team which explains her involvement in the The Wolverine: Brothers in Arms. Cyclops very clearly has issues with Xavier and its explored how Scott feels Xavier failed the team by being too soft. The team have their internal conflicts about if this is the right thing to do, with Bobby and Jean pulling one way while Scott pulls the other. The villains are Sebastian Shaw and his latest recruit to the Hellfire Club: Abyss (Alexander Koch).
Abyss is killed by Shaw so he can absorb his power in the final battle, and Shaw fights Jean and Armor, seemingly having the upper hand after absorbing Abyss' energy but he is killed by a stray laser beam from Cyclops. The team is distraught that Scott would just kill a mutant in cold blood like that, causing a major rift. The team essentially is over, with only Jean remaining at his side. Havok decides this is not his fight to fight, while Sunspot, Armor and Iceman begin to agree more with Xavier and decide to leave for the Xavier School, and Gambit goes back to being essentially a free agent.
Daredevil
Get Drew Goddard and the Netflix series cast on this ideally, match that tone of elevated street-level work. This is essentially the Guardian Devil storyline from the comics, including the Mephisto, Wong and Black Widow stuff.
I don't really have a lot to say, keep Spider-Man as a major player even if the actor's cost is a bit steep as he will really bring eyes to this, as well as the debuts of Black Widow and Mephisto. Let 'em at it, but keep Gwyneth and Karen Page as separate characters, I know it could be tempting to roll them into one to keep the number of players in the storyline low and maybe avoid the PR trouble that comes with a teenage pregnancy in your cinematic universe.
Mysterio is revealed to be the guy behind everything in the final act, setting Bullseye and the Twin Killers on Matt and Peter and having made a deal with the devil. He is defeated, but not killed.
X-Corporation
Our next conceptual experimentation comes with the X-Corporation. My ideal team for this would be the same team that made Deadpool to allow for some dark and meta humour.
This is unlike the X-Corporation from the comics, rather it's the polar opposite. It's not an official company under the wing of Genosha or Krakoa or anything like that, but rather a rag-tag group of, essentially, nobodies. Worthington Industries continues its illicit activities, and two people notice it: Davis and Heather Cameron (Slipstream and Lifeguard, respectively). They decide to put together a team of their own, inspired by the X-Men. The team consists of themselves as well as Risque, Penance (Monet St Croix), Darkstar, Multiple Man, Domino, Cannonball, Sunfire and Thornn. The meta commentary and rag-tag style of team makes this movie sorta feel like a hybrid of James Gunn's Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy, but with mutants.
It's quite the large team, and that's the fun part because unbeknownst to them or the audience, a lot of them will be dead by the end of the movie. While not present in the marketing in any way, the movie makes it clear that not all of the team will survive this mission, almost in the way movies like the first Avengers did, a way that makes it seem like just a way to raise the stakes without doing anything about it, but this movie delivers.
Warren is back, but reveals that with the help of a new ally he has regained his ability to fly. Magneto, playing a much more villainous role now, has given Warren new metal wings, completing his transition to Archangel. These two along with a new player form our trio of villains: Mister Sinister. He is also working with Angel, but it is made clear in this movie that both Sinister and Archangel have a larger power they are working for.
The final battle is Mister Sinister against the X-Corporation, but Sinister decides to play his ace in the hole: a set of five clones to form "Sinister's Six" (including himself). The clones are of Wolverine, Mystique, Storm, Beast and Nightcrawler. The team's goal, previously taking down the Worthingtons, changes as they realise they are massively out of their depth. Their goal is now simply to get out of there alive. In the end, the clones are all killed and Sinister decides to live to fight another day but the team takes heavy losses. Risque, Penance, Darkstar, Sunfire, Thornn and most importantly: our protagonist, Slipstream, all perish. That leaves us with Lifeguard, Multiple Man, Domino and Cannonball alive.
The New Mutants
It's been long enough, get me the Russos on this one. They are oh so good at taking ensemble films, deconstructing them into their most raw character conflicts and raising those conflicts. I want that to happen here.
Established Roster: Professor X, Emma Frost, Storm, Beast
New Members: Thunderbird, Bishop, Jubilee
Magneto and Archangel decide to go after a common enemy: Xavier and his team. Xavier's school has produced some new talent who are being slowly integrated into the team, namely the three new recruits. Magneto and Archangel bring along Sabretooth too, who Xavier eventually realises is Logan's half-brother and convinces to join his side by the end of the film. Xavier is still our protagonist, as Magneto's ideals directly conflict with Xavier's ideals much like Scott, and Xavier feels massive guilt for his part in Archangel's crippling. We can have Xavier try his best to reconcile with Warren, drawing parallels to his own crippling (no details given, I want to hold that back but we do get some vague things like that it was a bullet that Xavier could very easily have avoided and that wasn't intended for him).
It seems like Xavier is getting through to Warren but just as that seems likely, Magneto realises why Xavier has never tried using his powers on Erik, or rather that he has but has failed due to Erik's helmet. He very quickly fashions a way for Warren to shut Xavier out, completing the Archangel look with a new exosuit and helmet. The final battle doesn't result in any deaths but the X-Men take a few hits before being put down, Storm eventually being the X-Factor when she electrocutes Warren's wings, shorting them and causing Magneto to flee with him.
The Groundbreaking Giant-Man
This is the Ant-Man sequel, as you may have realised by now I'm doing a weird thing with the titles where I change the alias and the descriptor for each film in the series. This is another Edgar Wright film, and while there will be comedy it will be slightly dialed back for more serious emotional weight. Not saying that funny films can't be films that make the audience feel, but some tonal consistency would be nice and a comedy having the kind of themes I want this film to explore would be a bit dissonant.
This film is about Hank realising he won't be around forever, and looking to pass the mantle on. This creates two options: Scott Lang, or an AI.
Scott and Jessica Jones are in a rocky relationship, we explore this as one of the central dynamics of the film, this is as much as Scott Lang film as it is a Henry Pym film. The main villain is Kilgrave who is manipulating Jessica but eventually Hank and Janet put an end to his schemes, Janet finally becoming the Wasp properly after a brief test run of the suit in Iron Man.
In the end, Scott's fractured emotional state after his tumultuous relationship with Jessica leaves him an unsuitable candidate for Hank, and he decides to create an AI to protect the Earth.
Fantastic Four: Rising Storm
I don't have a particular plot in mind for this film but I have an idea, basically just the coming of Galactus plot but with less of Galactus, rather more of Silver Surfer as a precursor to his arrival. Make it known that the Baxter Foundation is looked at with more and more raised eyebrows as they seem to be misplacing some important and dangerous things often, as proven by the existence of the Fantastic Four as well as the accidents involving Mole Man and Spider-Man.
The main things I want this film to accomplish is setup Galactus as a top threat for the future and strengthen the bonds between the F4 and their peers. Really make them feel united together, Alicia too is with Ben and the two are happy together. The Silver Surfer retreats, he is defeated (no switching of sides just yet).
Post-credits: Hank Pym, with the help of Reed, completes his AI: Ultron, the final pieces being some alien remnant tech that the Silver Surfer left behind. Ultron immediately awakens, becomes self-aware, and kills Hank before escaping the Baxter building, gaining access to non-nuclear missiles and decimating New York City using it. The extent of the damage is unknown in this scene.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
This film could even be a two-parter, but I think one 3 hour film should do the trick.
New York is decimated. In the wreckage, Wasp, Mister Fantastic, The Thing, Human Torch, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Spider-Woman and Scarlet Witch are confirmed dead. We have an actual 'age' of Ultron as Ultron basically takes over the world, creates Vision and inhabits his body, while the rest of the world tries to survive. As you have realised by now, the only surviving member of the Fantastic Four is Sue Storm, and while its unclear which mutants died, Emma Frost and Wolverine who are two of the most prominent characters in this film, both imply that they lost many friends. We explore these characters' grief while in this dystopia. As must be clear by now, Ultron has no real personality. He is what Ultron should be: ruthlessly efficient, and unfeeling. The Terminator, given the goal to terminate the world.
We have a new character in Hawkeye and Spider-Man introduce us to the post-apocalyptic world, and then slowly the plot is discovered: that technology that Silver Surfer left behind is capable of travelling across timelines. Before their final gamble, we spend the majority of the film in this dystopia with all the heroes, exploring their lives in the post-Ultron world trying to survive and hide. Heroes from elsewhere like Storm, Black Panther, Namor and others come to New York too so that all the power is in one place to devise a plan against Ultron.
Our primary protagonists after the first few minutes with Hawkeye and Spider-Man are Wolverine, Invisible Woman, and Emma Frost. Wolverine and Invisible Woman have their screen-time and grieve their massive losses, but another important player must be Emma. Her arc of going from cunning and sly Hellfire Club member to standing with Xavier and choosing the right side of history is made very clear in this film.
We have our heroes send Wolverine and Invisible Woman to an alternate timeline, where they meet The Defenders which consists of Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, Wasp, Professor X and another Wolverine. The two parties fight, thinking our heroes have been sent by Morgan Le Fay, before the Defenders realise that our heroes aren't lying about their timeline and agree to help them, using the Silver Surfer's technology to reconstruct another device to send them back to their timeline to before Hank and Reed create Ultron.
Our big 'final' confrontation is Logan and Sue trying to confront Hank about creating Ultron, trying to convince him not to do it. Hank refuses to listen, and eventually Logan is forced to kill him, causing him and Sue to become fugitives. Upon capture, Emma Frost reads their mind and realises they aren't lying. However, unbeknownst to all of them, Ultron knew about the technology (because of course he did) and followed the heroes into this point in the timeline. As Ultron does not exist in this timeline yet and isn't connected to the rest of the world in his semi-organic android Vision body, he is not more than his android body, resulting in our final fight being Ultron against everyone, a proper one versus all as Ultron's practically infinite computing power causes him to sense pretty much every attack that comes at him.
Everyone who died is back (minus Hank of course), but the final fight extracts a price too, as Black Panther dies when he gets in the way of a Vision beam headed straight for Namor. Emma Frost dies when she tries to infiltrate the mind of the android but encounters Vision's countermeasures, which instantly attack her and render her brain-dead. Emma dies trying to do the right thing, ending her arc over the course of the last two phases in tragic fashion. Ultron is eventually defeated when Doctor Strange uses magic to trap him in an infinitesimally small micro-universe after being worn down by everyone else.
And that's how this phase ends. The world is saved but it is quite the downer. Nick Fury however, sees potential in putting the non-associated heroes together, and decides to contact Tony Stark about starting the Avengers. Our movie ends with the very first Avengers team being put together.
Post-credits scene: The Baxter Foundation is officially disbanded, and Reed Richards replaces it with the Future Foundation.
So, to recap the end of the phase, here is how our factions look:-
- Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Wasp, Scarlet Witch
- X-Men (Scott's team): Cyclops, Jean Grey, Blink
- X-Men (Xavier's team): Professor X, Beast, Thunderbird, Storm, Bishop, Jubilee, Sabretooth, Sunspot, Armor, Iceman
- X-Corporation: Lifeguard, Multiple Man, Domino, Cannonball
- Future Foundation: Mister Fantastic, The Thing, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Wolverine
- Unnamed villain faction: Archangel, Magneto, Mister Sinister
The next phase will close out the first arc of this universe by eventually bringing the X-Men together for the final event, while also giving some hints to phases to come with some cosmic stuff and the introduction of the Inhumans.

2023.05.31 00:52 go5reni Derealization attacks?
Ever since I was little I’ve had these “reality attacks” as I used to call them. Still today, I wonder if I can control them or not because I only get them when I’m really concentrating on an object or analyzing it (that’s why I think I can control them because if I just stopped looking at stuff for a long period I would just not have them) but my mind on it’s own wanders to thinking “this is not real, this is not real, this is not real” and those are the reality attacks. I start seeing everything a little foggy and the only thing that I can think is a fight between “this is not real” and “yes, it’s real lets come back” “this is not real” “yes, it’s real” both at the same time, while everything just feels like I’m in a dream. Everything I’ve described happens in the span of 10-20 seconds and to get out I have to scream and shake my head or body. When these attacks started I just had to shake my head or body just a little or look away or stand up, but now I can’t never get out if I don’t scream and it takes longer for me to get out too. As if the sounds from outside wake my body… After that, everything’s just back to normal; I’ve cried a few times after but just when -in the middle of the attack- I get scared I won’t be able to come back but that’s it.
My mom just watched me experience one of these and she got really really scared said she’s never seen me like this, I’m confused because it was just one of my normal attacks and I feel fine but she said it’s urgent I go to therapy, while I don’t feel it’s necessary… what do you think?
This is the only experience I have with, what I think is, DR-DP.
Really the only thing I want is to know if anyone feels the same as me because everywhere I look I feel as if there’s no one out there experiencing the same thing. Let me know.

CHAPTER 1: Reproduction in Captivity - In the wild, Pokemon have many different methods of reproduction, only being able to reproduce with members of their own species. However, in captivity, Pokemon have "egg groups" of Pokemon that they can reproduce with, as well as conceiving through eggs. Another side effect of reproducing in captivity is that Pokemon are already adults as soon as they hatch from eggs. In the wild, an evolved Pokemon's offspring would be its unevolved form.
CHAPTER 2: The Rocks, the Steel, and the Icy - Long ago, the cells that went on to become Pokemon diverged. One of these new species consumed rocks and minerals for sustenance. As time went on, it began to incorporate silicon into its biology, becoming a semi-silicon based lifeform, AKA Rock Pokemon. As time went on and the world changed, some Rock type Pokemon evolved further, branching off into Steel and Ice based creatures.
CHAPTER 3: Types and How They Work - Pokemon have seemingly unexplainable and supernatural powers. However, that's untrue, as the powers of these creatures are completely explainable through the power of science! For example… Fire type Pokemon have the ability to convert the air they breathe into flammable gas, allowing them to expel the gas in the form of fire. Water type Pokemon have specialized organs that let them weaponize the water inside of their bodies. Grass type Pokemon can send signals to plants around them to grow, shrink and ensnare. Electric type Pokemon are capable of producing electricity using electrolytes. Some Pokemon can sense and manipulate aura, an energy produced by all living things. This includes Fighting types. Psychic type Pokemon can use their immense brainpower to project their nerve pulses. Rock, Steel, Bug, Flying, Poison and Normal types are all self explanatory. Ghost type Pokemon are typically made of gas or capable of producing "mystical" gas, which they can use in attacks. Ground type Pokemon are typically incredibly strong diggers, which also allows them to cause powerful tremors of the Earth. Dark type Pokemon typically use dirty fighting, however in certain cases can also project their nerve pulses, similar to Psychic types. Dragon and Fairy type Pokemon can manipulate different powerful auras.
CHAPTER 4: Human-Like Pokemon Seeing quite a few Pokemon, some may wonder, "Why are they so humanoid?" Well, quite a few humanoid Pokemon are genetically apes, which are not only humanoid but also biologically similar to humans. Humanoid Pokemon that aren't apes, like the canine Lucario, are simply the result of convergent evolution. If you were a Pokemon, why wouldn't you want to look just like the apex predator?
CHAPTER 5: Species from the Beyond There are many urban legends about the nature of Ghost types. A common belief is that they're spirits of dead people or Pokemon. However, this could not be any more wrong. Ghost type Pokemon are perfectly alive. Some people would think that a living creature could only exist in a solid form, but this is false. Ghost types like Gastly and Misdreavus are made almost entirely of gas, being able to reshape and manipulate their forms at will. A special case of this is Rotom, who has evolved to be so superheated, that its body is a plasma.
CHAPTER 6: WHAT IS SLOWPOKE???????? No, seriously. What is Slowpoke? The Slowpoke evolutionary line is a complete biological enigma. Despite appearing to be aquatic mammals, they can regenerate their tails like lizards. Despite these things, some people even think that they're clams??? Research on Slowpoke is in swing because scientists are eager to know what Slowpoke truly is!
CHAPTER 7: Plants or Animals? A common misconception is that plant Pokemon are simply plants, and they can't be blamed for believing so. Plant Pokemon evolved from the same cells as all other Pokemon, but the chloroplasts from the plants they consumed all that time ago fused into their cells, and as they attained more and more plant-like attributes, they evolved to look more like actual plants, becoming the Grass types we all know an love today.
CHAPTER 8: Genderless Reproduction Genderless Pokemon are considered genderless due to the fact that all of their gametes are incredibly similarly sized. Despite this, they're most likely biologically all female (though with so little gender dimorphism it doesn't really matter) with their own way of asexual reproduction.

2023.05.31 00:43 Regok1 Grief burnout
Hi all. I am so emotionally burnt out. My mom died almost two and a half years ago and for the past 3 or so months I've been deeply depressed and deep in my grief. I hysterically cried every day for weeks. Lately though I feel like I turned a page. I haven't had a crying attack in nearly 2 weeks, I had a great fun weekend with my boyfriend. But then today again all I thought about was my mom and no tears came. I feel like without the depressive symptoms I don't know how to process my grief. I feel like I have to do something to make the grief go away because I'm just so exhausted. All day every day my only thoughts are about my mom dying. I really want to live a life where I'm not constantly having to think of ways to distract myself. I miss her more than I ever thought possible. How can I live my life happily? I just really need to find a way to get some relief from the heavy, heavy weight my grief has become. Any advice is welcome, I really need some words of comfort

2023.05.31 00:33 Playful_Angle_5385 Singulair for Toddler
I'm curious if anyone has given their young child Singulair. I just saw an allergist today for my 3 year old who, as it turns out, is allergic to the planet and is also very likely asthmatic. I say very likely since we can't get an official diagnosis with a spirometry test until she's older but she has an asthmatic reaction to certain triggers that then goes away with an inhaler. She had an "acute asthmatic exacerbation" aka asthma attack in the Fall when smoke from wildfires rolled in, resulting in hospitalization so even without the official tests, all paths seem to point to asthma.
The allergist prescribed Singulair. I'm wondering if anyone here has children that took this medication and if you experienced any major side effects. I've read some pretty scary stories and want to hear from others of either your own experiences if you took it I'm childhood or if you have children who take or took it.
My husband has severe asthma and allergies, so the fact that one of our children also does isn't a surprise. He started taking Singulair in adulthood and hasn't had any major side effects but I don't know if children are affected differently and I didn't think to ask the allergist when I was there.
