I have a total of 5 admits as of now and after reviewing, I am stuck between these final 2 ones.
I am interested in AI/Ml field and want to get job after Ms. The main difference between these two is mainly the cost. I am planning to take a loan and USC is giving an estimate of around 140k for the whole program which is huge (more than double of SBU). Whereas in SBU the cost is less and they have offered the TA role with stipend along with a 2k tuition scholorship for the first year (total funding around 14k). But the program at USC is much better especially considering that it is a AI specialization which I am interested in. Most other aspects are almost same as both are in big cities with good social life and diversity.
So, is the program at USC so much better and worth the high fees or no? Also how much difference is there in securing internships and jobs? Please share your thoughts also considering the current economy and job market.

Hey - I'm trying more to say yes to things and being much more social. I thought to try posting more to Reddit too. So I've done a few posts recently. It seems to be a numbers games with posts and I'm just trying to figure out what to mention.
Like the title says I have a few areas of interest - my biggest thing I've focused my attention to is visual art 🎨. I love it and it's my passion. I've also always had an interest in science. I've had bouts of study of science, but have come to realise my artistic passion is the choice for main focus as I can't focus on too much at the same time.
Richard Feynman is who got me back into my interest in science back about 2010 when I found out about him, it was also that time I really got into philosophical writings, which had always been a light interest but I'd not much gone out of my way to read much before that point.
Lex Fridmans podcast has been an interest of mine since it was the A.I podcast - I'm really drawn to a lot with how the podcast has developed, but was there at the start due to the talk of A.I which is such a fascinating area of interest.
In my day job I'm a support worker, which is not ideal but I get to help people which is a nice feeling as the art can feel a bit selfish at times. The support worker role has really highlighted my enjoyment of patience and caring for people, which has been a good thing to learn about myself. That said I have been doing it for 4 years now, so am on the hunt for other work. Possibly something more office based.
I swim regularly at a local outside pool, I have had a break from the weight training this past month but am about to get back into it. It's really quite fun getting into fitness. One thing I really need to work on more is stretching.
I think I'm coming to realise stability can be a good thing for growth, but also a sort of stability where you do try various things and still keep a lot of curiousity whilst aging.

Re-reading it to torture myself, I realized I just wrote about what I was hyper-fixated on last October. There's literally no storyline just purple prose and my rambling about academic interests. The only thing they will get from it is that I'm neurodivergent and enjoy creating stuff - and also reading about psychology (which I'm not even as into anymore BYE)
Will they auto-reject me for being atypical? Will Ivies notice that the essay just shows signs of an adhd+autism combo? Will they think - "Can this girl just shut up and tell us more about herself and not indie film?"
It's not even that the essay is that bad, the writing is pretty good and the way I bridge my topics together works - it just doesn't feel like me. I was 17 when I wrote it and still 17 now but I guess I feel like an entirely different person now. It just feels like looking at a 7th-grade school assignment TBH

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about making a smash character for admech? Obviously they will not be good, but just as an experiment.
My initial thought is just a dominus with the red axe - 6a at ap-5 d2 is nothing to sniff at. The WLT falls through a bit though, perhaps just bionics to make him tough.

The other idea I had could be a dominus (again) with anizon's pseudogenetor and firsthand field testing (on the axe) - bumps the axe profile up to s7 and d3, and gives a pile of dendrite attacks too. You could run that in Ryza too to make the low strength of the pseudogenetor less of a problem.

I’m two and a half months in with someone I met on Bumble and he told me -out loud and to my FACE!!!- that he loved me and that all the shitty dates were worth finding each other!! When we met , the day after an AMAZING first date - we immediately canceled the app solely so we could give each other attention that would normally be juggled between several dates and weeks- we communicated honestly and openly from the beginning. We said we would commit to 5 dates over a few weeks (we live pretty close to each other), waited a few dates to have sex to see if the connection was growing before sex, and we’ve speedily hit the 10 week mark and we are together all the time. So im on 100mg of zoloft for 2 years and have been doing good on it. I went on a small vacation with my family and the entire time I was stuck in fight or flight mode (being away from home for a long period of time is a trigger for me). It was awful. Dry heaves and diarrhea, fatigue, increased anxiety and panic almost the entire time. But when I came back home, instead of feeling better and calm again, I am still having those feelings! I can't come back down to a normal level. I've tried meditation, deep breathing but the morning anxiety is back. It feels like it did before starting zoloft.
What happened? Will I go back to how I was? And how long should i wait it out? I've been home safe for 4 days now.

My mom always provided for me, but she was always struggling at the end of every month because all of her money had been spent on our bills and earning nothing more than a minimum wage. I don't want to go through that.
I believe everything in life is money. Your shelter, clothes, food and water, all that costs money. If I can't make it, I won't survive.

I have recently cut off my narc mother and although I am happier without her in my life, sometimes I catch myself doubting my choice of no contact. She gave me and my sister Barbie dream houses. Made my first Christmas with her family (was adopted/fostered) special. Would make my favorite dinner sometimes. We would talk for hours. Everything here is what any normal mother would do for her child which is why some will think I am a horrible person for doing this. However WHAT WAS HER INTENTIONS? That’s a question we as victims have to ask ourselves. Did they buy you that present to make you happy? Or to buy your devotion. Did they get you that outfit because they loved you or did they do it to show you off like a trophy? What have they ever done for you that they didn’t hold over your head??? So I may have some helpful HW for you guys. Write down a list of all the ways you have been wronged by them. Every time I start to doubt and think of letting her back into my life I look at my list and realize I would be crazy to consider it. I am the Web Development Manager for my company/team. My team hates WPML and I am not familiar with many other options.
The main issues that we have with it is its just buggy and annoying to use. We do not require automatic translation (Which seems to be the root cause of most bugs). Just the ability to toggle between two languages easily and enter content in separate locations than the other languages.

I have had a pretty miserable last 15 years. Dysfunctional family, abusive dad, mental illness, drug addiction, wasted life, etc. For the last 2 years I have been making some changes after I realized I need to leave this 3rd world country, get financial autonomy and get some distance from my family. I decided for Canada.
I got sober, got good certifications, got accepted into a great university and everything else in line. Everything was looking good in my life for the first time in 15 years. For the first time in ages I did not feel super depressed.
Then last week my Student Visa application got rejected. This totally devastated me. The same night, my phone I have been using for the last 6 years without any trouble died. Today I had a big argument with my dad. Normally I never react to his abusive behavior. But I guess I was so stressed out I snapped for the first time ever. I really needed his help for my Visa reapplication. Now he said he won't help me. I cannot believe I was so close to sorting my life out and once in my life reaching an actual milestone. I fucked everything up. Even my bathroom light went out today.
I'm not superstitious but I feel like someone put a curse on me last week. All my hopes and dreams literally disappeared today. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I feel the same depression I have felt for so many years again. I am reeling from this weeks events.
I will try my best to reapply, but it will not be as good. HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO STUPID TODAY? WHY LOSE CONTROL NOW OF ALL THE DAYS? I don't have anyone in my life to share my sorrows with. I'll try to keep this relatively short, but I always have a lot to say. This is a bit embarrassing to admit but I felt in my heart to share this today. I hope, to anyone out there struggling that this may help.
6 months ago I got my heart broken. I (22f) was dumped over text by my (at the time) boyfriend (21m) and I legitimately felt like I was dying. He gave me valid reasoning for ending it and I respect him for giving me closure. But it didn't change the fact that it hurt like a motherfucker. It felt like a punch to the gut, it felt like my life was ending. (I know this sounds a bit dramatic but I am an emotional gal with some serious attachment issues... we will get into that in a bit!). We had future plans, I believed that this person was perfect and that we would build a life together.
I did almost everything "wrong" during the breakup... begging, pleading, calling, texting, etc. I wouldn't (and felt like I couldn't) leave him alone. I so desperately wanted him to get back with me. I promised to change, I apologized, told him I would do anything and everything in the world to not lose him. I honestly felt like I could not live my life without this person. I couldn't eat for days, I couldn't sleep. I felt genuinely depressed.
He was very adamant in his decision to end things. Nothing I could say or do could convince him otherwise. He tried to pull the "let's be friends" card.... LOL NOPE!!! I couldn't do it. I felt so broken, and after the sadness came anger... HOW COULD HE DO THIS TO ME?!?!?! Which led to me sending a massive 'fuck you I deserve better' text... (LOL cringe). And then I blocked him (also cringe and very immature of me). I thought maybe the whole 'out of sight out of mind' thing would work if he truly never wanted me back. I needed to move on.
(Please bear with me and you can cringe with me at all of the mistakes I made in this... its a lot)
After I blocked him I immediately jumped onto dating apps! (yay another bad decision). And I right away clicked with someone new and we started dating.... surprise. it didn't work out. My focus was taken by that new person while we were dating and so I genuinely thought I had gotten over my ex. (no honey you were just distracting yourself)
After things ended with the new person, I started thinking about my ex again (shocker - also this was about 3 months after he broke up with me). I felt really upset at myself for how I handled the breakup. So I decided to unblock him and send him a text. It was basically along the lines of "I'm sorry for the hurtful things I said to you and for how I reacted after you ended things".... plus a lot more lol. But I didn't ask for him back, I didn't even really have the intention of getting back with him at this point, nor did I think he would want to.
To my surprise, the message went through. And 5 minutes later he responded with a big paragraph. He said that he accepted my apology and he hoped that I was doing well... etc. We started then catching up. Few days go by and TO MY FREAKING SUPRISE he asks me if I want to give our relationship another shot (remember that he was the one who initially broke it off and I did everythingggg wrong during the breakup). I was honestly not hoping for this, not expecting it at all.
I was a little bit hesitant but I was honestly lonely so I was like... fuck it why not (very sad and I know... toxic behavior).
We start dating again (exactly what 6 months ago me wanted and wished so much for!). Communication is great, he is putting in so much effort and doing everything seemly right. But as some time passes, I start to feel off. I realize that I no longer feel a connection with this person. But wait... how can I feel this when I once thought this person was perfect and that I would do anything to have them in my life????
When we get broken up with our ego takes a massive hit, and we put the other person on a pedestal. YOUR MIND IS FUCKIN WITH YOU! I started to realize that this person wasn't perfect, they too had flaws and our relationship ended for a reason. I became extremely uncomfortable around him, didn't want to have sex, didn't want to be intimate, romantic, etc. I just overall didn't enjoy his company anymore and truth be told.... I didn't trust him anymore. So I ended it.
And here I am today.
I started therapy, started to learn about my attachment issues, started to spend time alone and holy moly I WAS SO STUPID!
I have very low self-esteem, I am very insecure. I realized that I have always felt the need to be in a relationship to be happy. I couldn't feel good about myself unless someone else was validating me and reassuring me. BOOM. WOAH. Yeah.... reality check!
Everything I was searching for in others, I need to do for myself. I can compliment myself, I can take myself out to eat, I can enjoy spending time with myself. I've learned that if I cannot feel ok by myself, I will never be satisfied in a relationship and I will push people away. AND I WILL ATTRACT THE WRONG PEOPLE! Confidence comes from within, and I had completely lost myself trying to be a version of what other people wanted me to be.
If you take the time to invest in yourself, you will never regret it. That doesn't mean that it will be easy, but in the long run it will help you immensely. Change is uncomfortable, trusting yourself and being vulnerable with yourself is VERY uncomfortable but you can do it. If I can do it, you absolutely can as well.
I still have a long ways to go. I still don't like being alone at times. I'm still upset at myself for my immature behavior. But every. single. day. I get 1% better, I'm more comfortable with myself, I forgive myself, and I know that future me will thank me for this.
Moral of the story... you probably don't actually want to get back with your ex. Take some time and breath. You will be ok and you can get through this.
