I just need some confirmation or maybe some relatable anecdotes about a pretty sad situation I'm dealing with because it's causing me major anxiety and I have no idea how to approach it and idk maybe I just need to vent and idk a more appropriate place for this post. I tried the AITA subreddit but it kept deleting my post.
So to set the stage; 2021 was an awful year for my family. Shortly before the pandemic my father was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth from his lifelong dipping tobacco habit. He was going through that while the pandemic took hold and not long into it my stepmother began to lose balance a lot and would fall and not be able to get back up frequently. My dad underwent treatment and went into remission very briefly before having to go back for a skin graft while my stepmom would slowly become wheelchair bound. Then in March of 2021 my dad went to the hospital for shortness of breath. The doctors put him into a medically induced coma to run tests, and the next day my stepmom had to go to the hospital for major stomach pain (bowel obstruction from the wheelchair). I lived in FL at the time, they lived in TX. I flew out and found that my dad had a mess of chest/heart/lung complications related to his cancer and the only options were hospice or numerous surgeries for a very long shot with lots of suffering so me, my stepsister, brother in law and her children all had to go to my stepmom's room across town and first explain the situation to her which crushed us, then she and I had to sit down and make the decision to let him go into hospice peacefully and we managed to get her to his hospital to say goodbye and I flew out shortly after. I flew back into town for my dad's funeral, my mom was now starting to lose her voice and upper body strength. I fly home, a few weeks later mom is back in the hospital and I get the call from my sister who also told me one of her sons had passed shortly after she went in and I got to fly in to town to see mom and we had to tell her as a family about my nephew which was heartbreaking. Another month goes by, we finally get mom's diagnosis: ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). By this time she has to be on a respirator and I'm flying into Texas every few weeks to visit her but she eventually became unresponsive in September and we had to let her pass, too, and to cap it off it happened on my dad's birthday. I flew back shortly after to scatter her ashes on the beach (which she made sure all of us knew she wanted before she lost her voice, she didn't want us to not know like we went through with dad). So to recap, Dad passes in March, nephew passes in June, Mom passes in September. I lost my parents and a nephew inside of six months. My biological mother is still alive and I've become a little worrisome about her now but still it was the hardest year of my life.

After the worst year our family ever experienced I just wanted some time to process it all and grieve and I'm glad to say I'm at a point where I'll catch a glimpse of something that reminds me of them and I'll just think of whatever memory is attached to it for a minute and smile, though the anniversaries are still hard. Thank you for sticking with me so far. So during that time the process of probate was going on but I didn't much care about that, I just wanted to grieve and see my other nephew get married last year which was beautiful but..

It's almost two years now since mom passed away. She named my brother in law as the executor of her will. I think he was the best choice bc he would be the one to get things done and stand up to my stepbrother who was kind of the black sheep of the family (long story) but still thinks he should have been the executor. He's started a few fights over it. Anyway, about a year ago I had managed to move past the grieving process and it felt like my sister and BIL had, too. We've grown a lot closer over this time so I didn't want to ask about probate besides keeping up with how my parents' house is holding up (and retrieving a wooden chest I had made in high school that mom cherished and my dad's ring that my mom left to me) because I trust them. I also feel like asking about money after someone has passed is in poor taste.. but like I said we're almost two years past that now.

My mom left me, my stepsister and brother in law equal portions of her estate after the specific things like furniture, jewelry etc, and a small portion to my stepbrother. I haven't heard anything about that and until recently I was content to let it be bc I wasn't the only one that had a really hard time with so much loss so suddenly but the house hasn't even been listed for sale. I've tried asking what's going on with it, it seems there's a plumbing issue that needs to be addressed but the house is an hour and a half from their house so scheduling is hard. I get it but... stepsis doesn't work. She has health issues that slow her down but nothing that stops her from taking a day to go to the house to meet a plumber. Mom left her car to her so she definitely has her own transportation and she can do exactly what she does at home.. at mom and dad's house. She smokes cigarettes and does puzzles on her porch. She can bring her dogs for company. I don't understand how this plumbing issue has held things up for at least two months. I've tried suggesting ways to have someone meet the plumber and alert her so she can drive to the house (neighbor, friends, someone from the law office). The last option kind of put a little unwanted intrusive thought into my head, though. When I suggested just having someone from the law office as a throwaway bc I'm getting a little frustrated my sister told me "Oh, the lawyer's job was done a long time ago."

What does that mean? Sister had to let me go before I could ask, claiming she had to go to the doctor for a possible infection (which is was but she's fine now). I haven't called since then because I'm more than a little frustrated after that last conversation. I'm assuming it means all my parents' debts have been paid, all insurance policies have been collected, savings/retirement accounts have been consolidated etc. The only thing that appears to be left is the house. That's a monthly mortgage payment, insurance, possibly utilities and probably the car. I'm not going to lie, I have thought about what I might do with my inheritance. Nothing concrete but I've considered using it for a house or to get some training to switch careers and I'm in no immediate rush to get it but my main issue is how in the dark I feel. Stepsis and brother in law have since bought their first house and have done extensive renovations to it. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt bc BIL had been promoted at work shortly before everything happened and they were looking at houses.. but I'm not unconvinced their budget didn't get bigger? Like I don't think they're spending my portion of the inheritance... but it's a bad look isn't it? They're the only family I have left on my dad/stepmom's side and I don't want to cause tension with accusations but I don't even know how much the estate was. I'm still paying off the flights, rental car and hotel bills from all the trips to Texas. I have severe PTSD and chronic anxiety diagnoses and piling this on top has been keeping me up at night for a year now. WIBTA if I called the probate lawyer and asked to see all the statements? Is this normal?

Has anyone ever been through anything like this before? Where your partner has done a complete 180 in a very short amount of time?
What would you guys do in my situation?
I am 53 and my girlfriend is 43.
This is the short version – I could literally write several hundred pages, but you get the point.
Hi, my name is Chris and I’ve been dating someone we’ll call Mindy for nearly 3 years now. At first, she started off being the sweetest most down to earth woman I’ve ever met. Very easy going. We just instantly clicked and had a lot in common. We just had this amazing connection. We would think the same things at the same time, finish each others sentences etc. Absolutely on the same page with everything. It was absolute bliss. The one I had been waiting for. I could honestly see a future with this woman. She was the best thing that ever happened to me…. Or so I thought. We fell in love, made plans for the future as couples do… taking things slowly to see how the relationship progressed. 5 months later things were still going great and so I would stay a weekend at her place, she would spend a weekend at mine. Our leases were ending on the apartments that we had. We talked about taking the next step. Moving in together to see how that went. We found a very nice brand-new apartment. Never lived in. Elevator, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances. It was very nice. We decided to sign the lease. I spent about 10k on new furniture to deck the place out. She had 3 kids, and the cell phone bill was enormous, so I told her that we could get new phones and a family plan for much less. So, everyone got new phones, etc. I did everything that a responsible father figure / husband would do. I went without for the greater good of the household. She knew that I went above and beyond and loved me all the more for it. I never wanted or expected anything in return. Everything is humming along. One night she tells me out of the blue “I have a better life waiting for me in another city. Say the word and I’m gone”. She went on and on. I was shocked to say the least. We had a very good life together. Where did THAT come from? The next morning, I confronted her about it. Maybe it was the Sangria talking, I don’t know. She apologized but it seemed like a forced apology. Time went on and month number 8 she starts to become verbally abusive. It was her youngest son’s high school dance and he wanted to wear a bow tie. She asked me what I thought. I told her he looks amazing, but I think a regular straight tie might work better. She immediately flew into a rage and started screaming at me. We dropped him off at the dance and went back to our apartment. She began to verbally tear me apart for the next 3 hours because of the innocent comment that I made. She became extremely verbally abusive. She called me every name in the book and then some. Some of the things she told me that night:

1. You’re not a man!
   
2. You’re uptight white trash (I’m not white trash, white collar, Tech sector, making close to 6 figures, drives a Mercedes and tries to be a decent human being everyday)
   
3. I’ve been known to throw sh*t out the window and down the stairs!

5. I’m going to make life difficult for you
   
6. The last time I checked I’ve lived all over the world. I’m not some country bumpkin who’s never left Florida. I have bigger horizons than you!! (I’m not a country bumpkin – she was an Army wife with her ex – she was a housewife on 3 separate continents and wasn’t enlisted)
   
7. You turned into a f*cking schmuck!
   
8. This town is sh*t. (We lived in Lakewood Ranch, FL. One of nicer places in Florida – 15 miles from the Gulf Coast beaches)
   
9. I told you I loved the beaches, but I NEVER loved the beaches!!!

Anything that she could say to hurt me she was right there saying it. NOTHING was off limits. I made it a point to never engage her in these absurd arguments. I would only try to ignore that it’s happening… hoping that she would wind down and stop. Trying to not add fuel to the fire. I could’ve said many unkind things. But I didn’t. The next morning, she would wake up like nothing had happened.
For the sake of keeping this short, you can imagine all of the other nasty things she’s said to me in the year and a half since this. The above examples were one argument over a span of 3-4 hours.
This type of behavior repeated every 3-4 days. Sometimes we would actually go a whole week / 10 days without fighting. We never went more than 3 weeks without a big blow out argument of some type. I saw it as absolutely abnormal and started writing down every time we had an argument. Just as a sanity check. I lost count as 120 in a years’ time. She has this Jekyll and Hyde personality disorder.
When things are going great it’s just amazing… stratospheric, but when things aren’t it’s the absolute lowest of the low. It’s an undefined level of Dante’s hell. I confronted her and told her that I am miserable living like this. Walking on eggshells…I deserve better treatment than this and if she doesn’t seek counseling for her anger and her behavioral issues we are done. She laughed at me. She absolutely refuses. She says that therapy is BS and she doesn’t believe in it at all. I told her that unfortunately is the only path forward for us. Or we can go our separate ways. But when that happens, she will continue to have this problem with other men. No one is going to tolerate these antics and verbal abuse and she will end up alone. I didn’t want to see that ending for her, so I pleaded with her to just get help. Even if we are not together, I don’t want to see her alone and miserable. Her response. She told me to go f*ck myself for the next several hours and further tore me apart. So, I’ve given up trying to get through to her.
In addition, her three kids that were living with us – two decided to run away from home due to the constant verbal and mental abuse and the son she is “rehoming” to Colorado to live with his dad because she’s “sick” of him. The family cat – she decided she hates cats now after 3 years and so she was going to take him to a shelter / pound to get rid of him. I told her no way, I’ll take him. She was always mean to him anyways and the poor thing deserves better. She proudly proclaims that she is getting rid of everyone to live her best life and finally be happy and free. We are currently separated.
The cat has never been happier. The kids from hell aren’t chasing him and Mindy isn’t smacking him on a daily basis for being a cat.
Looking back, I feel like she is a covert narcissist with BPD (the youngest daughter was diagnosed with BPD and a host of other issues) or at the very least has some sort of personality disorder. Normal well-adjusted people don't act this way. Mindy always blamed the kids craziness and behavioral issues on the ex-husband. Actually, that was a lie. They get it from Mindy. In getting to know her mother over the years I can absolutely guarantee that Mindy’s mother is a narcissist. Mindy’s sister is also shows a lot of traits. It’s plain to see once you know what to look for. Like the nose on your face. So, I can only imagine Mindy is too on some level and that’s ultimately what I’m dealing with here with this Jekyll and Hyde routine. It’s a shame that I’ve had to become a quasi-expert on narcissism / mental disorders to understand what the hell was happening to me. Never in a million years did I see this outcome coming. That’s how good of an actress she was. Academy Award material. She absolutely missed her calling. The kids were on their best behavior for the first year or so before showing their true colors. Multiple baker acts, etc. The youngest daughter has been baker acted 19 times in two years, etc. Mental issues run in that family.
After all of this I’ve finally decided to walk away. I think my heart is finally broken. I’m an empath (and honestly that feels like a handicap during times like these). I’m probably one of the easiest going guys that I know. But I’m also no one’s doormat. So honestly, with the Jekyll and Hyde personalities it’s taken a LOT for me to get to this point. But when I’m done. I’m done. That and the kids from hell who Mindy enables. Two times she builds you up and the third time she completely destroys you. I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. And when it drops it drops hard. You get to a point that you cant even enjoy the good times because you know the bottom is about to fall out since things are going so well. Initially it was super confusing to process. Now I understand it a bit better. I feel like I am doing the right thing. It’s the only thing left to do. I guess I’m just looking for validation / affirmation here.
Has anyone ever been through anything like this before? Where your partner has done a complete 180 in a very short amount of time?
What would you guys do in my situation?

I (32f) have a girls trip planned late summer with 5 of my long-time friends to a beach in FL. My best friend is terminally ill and got an all-inclusive wonderful vacation paid for by some kind folks, none of us have to pay anything but our way there.
Four of them had planned to road trip down together and take a couple extra days to drive down and back. One of my friends wanted to fly and I was also considering flying down with her but I am leaning towards renting a car and driving down by myself, she doesn't want to drive down, I have asked. I would drive with the other group but can't swing the extra days off and it will be pretty crammed.
I am the only one with a child (3.5 yr old) and I think being able to drive back earlier if need be will ease my mind and honestly a quiet road trip sounds nice. Fluidity is a bonus for me. My husband and I just got back from flying across the country and I just really don't enjoy airports and flying. Being crammed with people and the stress of making your flight etc.
Here's where the problem is. I thought absolutely nothing of driving by myself down there. I have made the trip with family a lot over the years 10+, and no where I'm going to be is dangerous by any means. My husband got very upset with me and is not okay with it, my mom also had a really big reaction to it and thinks I'm definitely going to be kidnapped or harrased if I go. Am I absolutely insane, or is this a perfectly normal thing for an adult woman in her thirties to do??? So WIBTA if I go??

So my grandpa has cancer and he's not able to do the things that he used to be able to do. Walking is hard for him now so he always has to use a walker. One of the things he really like to do, especially with my Dad when he was younger was go on weekend getaways.
So a little over a month ago my grandpa and grandma go to the beach. They wanted to relax and just forget about the cancer a little bit. My dad booked the motel for them on booking.com. after driving for hours they arrive at their motel and they go inside to check in. My grandpa tells the lady at the front desk" hello my name is Grandpa (obv not his real name) I'm here to check into my room. We are in room 112."
That's when the lady at the front desk replied " oh I'm sorry we don't rent rooms to handicap people." My grandpa just ignored that and said " ma'am, we've been driving for hours and we're tired. Can we please just check into a room so we can rest for a little bit?" Again the lady said " I'm sorry but we don't rent rooms to handicap people. If you fell we would be liable. There are many other hotels in the area though." Naturally they ask for a refund and they're told that they had to get it from booking.com since they made the reservation through booking.com.
So my grandpa calls the booking.com agent and tell him that he needs a refund. He puts the booking.com agent on speaker and he asked the lady herself why she isn't renting in the room. And she tells the booking.com agent " we don't rent rooms to handicap people." And the booking.com agent is flabbergasted and asks to repeat herself. She does and says " we don't rent rooms in handicap people. If they fall down we would be liable." So the booking.com agent gave them their refund. Unfortunately it's Friday after 5:00 so they wouldn't be able to get it until like Monday at the earliest. So I transferred them some money from my bank account to theirs so they can find a hotel room and luckily they were able to.
When they returned they told me everything that happened in detail And I told my grandpa "hey you should call the ADA and report the motel." So I gave him the ADA number that I found online and he calls them. He talked to him. Tell them what happened and they direct him to some online forms to fill out. He does that and we figured that's probably all he can do and they won't do anything. But it's good just to report them so people will know that that motel sucks and is discriminatory.
Last week I was visiting my grandpa at the hospital and he tells me "ohh hey I got a call from the ADA earlier. They told me that what happened at the motel was so prevalent and they sent my case file to the office of the US attorney general! They said there was a backlog of cases but mine will get looked at." Honestly we are very happy to hear that cuz we didn't think anything was going to get done but it's good to report them so people know what type of business they are. But now that is being sent to the office of the US attorney general. Like yeah, we're happy that something's being done about the discrimination, my grandpa faced

This comes up a lot in these subs and I often repeat myself, so I figured I'd throw down a basic guide to making a date not just a date, or a good date, but a GREAT date. WARNING - this is gonna be long.
I've dated a LOT in the past year out of a marriage and relearned the fine art of a great date. Rest assured, it's REALLY easy to "wow" a woman these days because soooooo many guys put zero effort in or are absolutely clueless. Truth is, it's so simple and easy you're gonna kinda "duh" your way through it. Nothing I'm about to tell you is groundbreaking or revolutionary, rather it's all very basic shit we all know, but for some reason refuse to put into practice.
I'll start by saying that I believe it's a man's job to get, plan, and manage dates. A gentleman secures the date, makes sure it's a success, and yes, pays for it. I pay for all dates, but you should at least pay for the first date. You asked, you planned, you pay.
First thing you need to understand is what you do is not as important as how you connect. It's about two people getting to know each other and the activity is secondary. So, regardless of what you do, you have to have your shit together as far as conversation, flirting, and escalating are concerned.
You can have the most amazingly planned date in the world, but just not vibe or muck it up by talking too much or make bad moves and it doesn't work out. Truth is, you're the number one factor on a date. It's up to you to knock her socks off. There's a great quote in jiu-jitsu, "a blackbelt only covers 2" of your ass, it's up to you to cover the rest."
This post is about the nuts and bolts of planning a date, not really focused on conversation or flirting skills, but I will address it briefly. Number one thing is to get to know her and be playful. Don't make it an interrogation or job interview, but ask some get to know you questions as you would with basically any stranger and LISTEN to what she's saying. Use the information she's providing, to probe deeper and keep the conversation fresh. You don't want to get too personal or go down any potential dark paths, but you do need to delve into who she is. Look for places to tease her and play with her a little - it's all supposed to be light and fun.
For example, on one date a while back, I asked her if she was local or moved to the area. Finding out she grew up nearby, I asked her what it was like growing up here. Her answer was very basic as it's kind of a shit question to be honest, but it lead me to ask, "tell me about the biggest trouble you got into growing up in FL" which brought about a fun convo about being a bit of a wild child and a story about throwing oranges at a car when she was little and getting into trouble. Jackpot. "That may be the most redneck Florida man story I've ever heard on a date, we just threw snowballs." We had a laugh and I teased her in subsequent conversations about throwing oranges at people who wrong her. Dumb, fun, playful, flirty.
Main thing with convo is you want her to do most of the talking. People trying to impress other people tend to talk more. If she's a chatterbox, there's a solid chance she's nervous and trying to impress you. Insert a little bit about yourself here and there, and answer her questions in fun, pithy ways, then ask more from her. I certainly could have told her a dozen snowball stories, but I didn't. I mentioned that little tidbit, and turned the convo back to her. Getting her talking about herself will make her more comfortable and make you a little different than the other guys.
Again, none of this is revolutionary, but there are some things you may have heard of for dates that are strictly no-go, especially for a first date. You want quiet, but not too quiet. No movies. Movies suck. You sit there for 2+ hours in silence, not even looking at each other. You also want to avoid loud. Live music, clubs, etc. Suck. You don't want to be screaming into each other's ears all night. Also, you don't want to take the claustrophobic girl to an escape room. Proximity is also important. You want to be close, but not too close. You basically want to ensure anything you do will keep you within 10ft of each other most of the time where you can talk and banter.
A note on time. Evening dates whenever possible. Generally they're more relaxed and if things go really really well and you're down for some sexy time, it's much more likely to get an invite back to her place at 10pm than it's at 2pm. Plus, the cover of darkness is very welcome for the goodbye kiss.
Ok, let's back up. You've matched or gotten a number and you're talking to a girl. You need a little bit of intel to plan a great date. It's all very simple and can be part of normal conversation - what she likes, doesn't like, is interest in, and afraid of. You need to bank these little bits of information and use them to plan your date(s). Key here is really to cater to HER. It's not about showing her all the things YOU like, it's about creating an environment you'll both enjoy where she can feel comfortable and appreciated.
Before you even plan a damn thing, you start the date with a seed. You don't ask her out, you tell her you're taking her out. Blend it smoothly into the convo as if it's nothing. "That's really funny, I can't wait to hear more about it on our date Saturday." She agrees, the seed is planted, now you water. She's going to ask what you're doing - be vague and playful with little hints to your ideas based on what you know about her. "We'll start with dinner, then go cliff diving" (she's afraid of heights). "Dinner at 7pm consists of fried goat eyeballs appetizers and dog chops" to the girl who says she "literally eats anything." Don't give her any details, build anticipation.
You have some info, now it's time to plan. Every good plan has contingencies. You want plan A, B, and C at least. D and E can really come in handy, so factor them in. These things can save a date that's starting to go sideways (usually because you didn't ask or didn't listen to her when gathering intel). The basic strategy is you start with A and work your way through. A is something easy, light, basic. B is a little more involved and fun/intimate, C is more relaxed. D and E are emergency rip cords if you've fucked something up and she's not in to the other options.

Here's how it works in practice:
You know a thing or two she likes to eat/drink, the types of activities she does on her own, the type of place she likes to hang, and a couple phobias or things that make her uncomfortable. Plan A is coffee, drinks, or dinner. Plan B is some first date cliche activity - mini-golf, bowling, walk in the park, etc. Plan C is drinks, ice cream, etc - something relaxing to wind down. D & E are secondary options for B & C.
Jump on Google Maps and look at an area convenient to both of you, or closer to her. Remember, you're meeting her there, not picking her up unless you already know her. Find the best rated coffee shops, bars that specialize in her favorite drink, or restaurants that have her favorite food and fits your budget. Plan A is home base. For each option you find that fits the bill, scan the area for things that fit for B, C, D & F within walking distance (under 10 minutes walk) if possible. If you can't find a spot with that many options, you need to at least cover B in that area. Driving to the last part isn't as big of a deal if the date is going well, but the closer the better (under 10 minute drive, UNLESS where you met and where you go next puts her closer to home).
The first few times you do this it might take you a half hour to figure everything out. After a while, 10-15min is pretty realistic. Even better, you'll find cool spots with lots to do where you can take future dates because they have so many options. Definitely want to avoid doing "the same date" with multiple women, but it happens from time to time cause some places are just too damn good. Double check open/closing times and make reservations as necessary to ensure no snags - last thing you want is to show up and the place isn't open or is closing soon, or it's so fucking blown out there's an hour wait time.
Over the coming days leading up to the date, you're still being vague and playful about the plans. Only thing I say is the plan A activity (dinner, drinks, whatever), the time, and her approximate commute time/distance (always ask exactly how long it took her to get there when you meet up - more on that later). Sometimes, she'll get nervous and demand more information. I generally tell them I want to surprise them, but if they're uncomfortable, I'll divulge the plan. "We'll be very much in public the entire time." If they ask more, I'll provide a basic outline without detail. If she's still not comfortable, I'll provide a full outline of the specific spot for plan A and some generic ideas of what to do after. The goal isn't to be difficult, rather to give her the gift of mystery. Only one time over ~60 dates have I provided a full detail and the majority of the others have noted they appreciated being surprised.
Day of the date, drop the address of Plan A. No detail, just the address. Sometimes I'll add, "don't map it unless you want to ruin the surprise!" I generally do this a few hours before the actual meet up time to ensure she has plenty of time to get ready and make it there on time.
So far, this is a good, maybe great, date, but that's not what we're after. We're after a "knock her fucking socks off, amazing, kickass" first date. The key to that is the details. The key to the details is to listen.
Not only have you chosen a place that has her favorite food, you've also looked at the menu and can tell her they also carry her favorite brand of wine or make her favorite drink. Maybe she has an allergy and you already know they don't use peanut products or have gluten-free options. Maybe you just recommend something she might like or something she should probably avoid. You go for a walk after dinner and make a pit stop at your car to produce her favorite type of wine. It might rain and you have an umbrella. Going to the beach? You have extra towels so you don't get sandy asses when you sit and watch the waves in the moonlight. It might get chilly, you brought an extra hoody/jacket. She likes flowers, well you just so happen to walk by a flower shop, display, or fancy landscaped place. One time, I picked up two airplane bottles of tequila so we could have a shot on our walk in the park - we had joked about doing a bunch of tequila shots and getting too drunk on a date. It was a fun little thing most wouldn't think of, but got the coveted, "OMG, you've thought of everything!"
Understand, these aren't necessarily things you're specifically looking for in the planning stages, but they are the icing on the cake. Keep your eye out for them when planning and while you're actually on the date.
I hate that I have to say this, but the art of being a gentleman has pretty much died. Help me revive it. You open doors, let her go first when being seated, pull out her chair (if convenient - don't shoulder block her out of the way to pull her chair out), practice good manners, and do the little things like walking on the outside line on a sidewalk next to traffic - keep her on the inside next to buildings. That's a subtle thing that many don't even notice, but you're just doing a little thing to protect her. Speaking of which, if there's any sort of situation that appears dangerous - an escalation between two guys, an unsavory character approaching as you're walking, etc - step in and block or remove yourselves from the threat. "I think it's time to go" or simply crossing the street will make her feel safer with you.
If things go well and you are engaged with each other, flirting and being playful, give her a hug at the end and look for a kiss. If you have no idea what you're doing here, a couple simple things will help you. Watch her as you're talking. If she's bouncing between your mouth and your eyes, she might be thinking about kissing you. If she's super handsy and very playful, she probably wants to kiss you. When you're standing there at the end, if it feels right and you're confident, just kiss her. If you're unsure, go for a hug, but when you release, just hold it right before you break for a tenth of a second and look at her. If she's staring into your eyes, or better, eyeballing that mouth - kiss her!
Now that the date is over, you time how long it takes her to get home (you know cause you asked at the beginning) and send her a text asking if she made it home ok because you're a fucking gentleman and for that evening, her safety was your responsibility.
Just like I said at the beginning, it comes down to your interaction with her. However, with a little bit of planning you can set yourself up for the best possible circumstances to make her comfortable and set the bar high for all the other guys out there.

Numerous police officers lured to new jobs in Florida with cash from Governor Ron DeSantis's flagship law enforcement relocation program have histories of excessive violence or have been arrested for crimes including kidnapping and murder since signing up, a study of state documents has found.
Among the almost 600 officers who moved to Florida and received the bonus - or were recruited in state - are a sizable number who either arrived with a range of complaints against them, or have since accrued criminal charges, the online media outlet Daily Dot has discovered.

In a press release earlier this month, DeSantis announced the program had since grown to more than 2,000 officers, with a parallel rise in cost to more than $13.5m. "To date, 595 law enforcement recruits from 49 states and US territories have relocated to Florida, including more than 215 recruits from California, Texas, New York, and Pennsylvania," the statement said.

The classes of the ships are as follows:
UCSGB, the Unknown Creature Service Gunboat, the smallest class, is a more support craft than anything, equipped with a broad range of scanners and similar, as well as torpedo defenses.

All classes, going up in size

UCSGB

These ships range from 30 to 50 meters and are a varying amount of armed. In general there are 5 types. Type one is the most pathetically armored, and a ship hunter...equipped with a single 8 inch combat cannon as its main weapon, the small boat has terrifying power for its size.
Type two is equipped with more acceptable armor and carries a heavy vulcan gatling cannon, made to tear away light armor and take planes out of the sky.
Type three has medium armor and is armed with a missile pod. It serves as a shore assistant and anti air unit, produced to go hand in hand with marking units.
Type four has radar equipment with heavy armor, for its size. This is a supporting design, marking enemies as well as threats in a short radius. In combination with type three it fights terrifyingly, is however barely armed on its own, serving more as a tiny mission base.
Type five has the heaviest armor and has no weapons...it instead has a troop area and small scale armory, being designed as a landing craft for shore operations or the likes.

Frigates are larger combat vessels, which in general range from 50 to 100 meters..in simplicity's sake, their armament is light, and way more versatile then the Gunboats weapon. The three generalized types are
Type "shiphunter", light, fast combat frigates, equipped with torpedo launchers, of magnetized, guided and unguided nature. These prioritize in hunting and destroying vessels, or large creatures
Type "guardian" specializes in more resilient armor as well as being equipped with deadly vulcan turrets , to tear enemy planes and lesser enemies away.
Type "fortress" a heavily armoured, suicide oriented combat vessel, with expanded front, ending in primed breaching charges, c4 and a cluster if improvised explosives..these are capable of tanking insane damage and sinking larger vessels

UCSC

Vessels taking the range of 100-200 meters, with standardized advanced combat capabilities. Their core equipment is: one sonar, two torpedo launchers, oriented to the ships front, two frontal dual barreled 8 and one of the same, on the back. On average, 8 aa guns are littered over the hull and due to its modular construction they are easy to augment , modify and change, making them a versatile, easy to use warship, forming the bulk of the ships 'meat shields' or 'Infantry'

UCSHC

What amplifies this effect is an increased AA gun count, alongside a shifted focus to missile launchers, capable of turning the skies black and filling it with the Choir of missile engines. Its enhanced super structure has the form of removing the ship bay, replacing it with the expensive, famous and halfly unique 'iyatora' war system, which in of itself, is a large storage hall with 8 openings to fire insane amounts of missiles, for extended time periods. The UCSSBS "dread" also possess an increased amount of general laser targeting systems, strengthened radio and satellite connection and advanced computers
The UCSSBS "tarantula" is the continued and advanced form of its lesser brother. A monument of a ship, it possesses 60 hydraulic legs, to carry it across land while holding immense stability..its arsenal has the capability to shift its location, resulting in an oddly more focused and devastating fire, at both sea and land. It is a mobile base, with a large, special armory. It holds a few tanks and other land vehicles as well as an armies worth of weapons, as well as being equipped with a huge medbay. It is capable of support many land engagements and has seen an insane number of combat encounters, throughout its time of usage.

UCSSCA

The Unknown Creature Service Super Carriers, the strongest naval air support. They are massive war ships, reaching the range of 800 meters to 1 kilometer. They are some of the most heavy ships the service offers holding a tremendous amount of strategic value. Their power is not to be underestimated, as their cargo of 200 planes, on average, can reign with destruction. Alongside this number of aircraft, the average carrier has 40 20mm 'hyperfire' chainguns, for AA self defense, as well as 8 specially positioned 22 inch dual barreled turrets and dozens of launchers or catapults. They have advanced laser targeting and triangulation systems with entire rooms dedicated on a live feed map of the surrounding area. The UCSSCA "Hive" is one of the largest UCSSCA, which has cleared some space amongst its top deck, building 3 instead of the standard 2 runways. Its insane armor it overly resilient to attacks and its plane pilots drilled towards special take off. It will get more aircraft up into the air and it will reign. It goes for an insanely aggressive combat style, despite being an Aircraft carrier, rushing to smaller ships and ramming them, as well as frequently making use of its modified cannons. Each of them has unique structure and focuses, but all of them are regarded as weapons of mass destruction. Things all share are: insane fire power. A size above 1 kilometers in length. At Least one ICBM, nuclear missiles, 8 tactical nuclear missiles and 2 medium range nuclear missiles. These nuclear systems are located at the base of the ships bridge, capable of firing instantly. These ships are all mobile bases, capable of handling insane coms traffic, easily, being used as global relay of data. Their missions are varied, from guaranteeing coastal safety, ensuring naval dominance, holding air superiority and lastly being directly capable of fighting great size UC's. One more trump is that every UCSL possesses at least one heavy railgun. Each is to permanently have radar contact, coms contact and gps broadcast, to ensure that these titans are not lost. All possess anti-nuclear capabilities, able to intercept missiles of any form. Each is insanely costly, but also a moving guarantee of victory.

The UCSL "Survivor"

The UCSL "Survivor" is the single oldest ship of the leviathans, still holding many tricks and insane power. It is renowned for its insane time of usage, with 3078 deployments over 15 years, and the fact that it has survived 174 critical damages. It runs on a twin nuclear reactor and moves with 20 knots, unless the energy is fully rerouted, where the ship reaches terrorizing speeds of 60 knots. Its armament holds the standardized formula of 6 frontal tri-barreled 50 inch turrets. These massive weapons can devastate an insane number of ships. Behind its large bridge there are 4 of these guns, with a fifth turret slot being filled with their railgun, the specialized model QLS-01 "devastator". Due to an old energy grid and oldish reactors, the firing of this trump weapon will deactivate the entire ship for 20 seconds. To the sides of the main bridge, it holds 4 helipads, for easier troop movement as well as addition for firepower. In addition to its main armaments, it possesses 80 8 inch cannons, located along the hull, with ability to move and retract, like with ships of the napoleonic era, just using modern cannons. Also to note are the 120 anti air turrets, dotted along the edge of the main deck, ensuring that not a single bomber can scathe the ship. While technically completely correct that the "Agis" has only ever had one Deployment, this Deployment has lasted over 7 years. Its single deployment is to stay near the waters of the core HQ and protect it at all costs. It sacrifices two of its frontal standard tri-barreled 50 inch guns, having 4 frontal and 5 on the back, this exchange however is to do with the replacement ending in the modification of two highly advanced missile interception systems, which both are a hybrid Gun, missile interception system, leading to insane efficiency. Tried and tested, these systems have stopped the missiles of 50 P-77 "Missile hell"'s , 30 IS-51 "Fury"'s and the UCT-23 "warbringer" all at the same time, without breaking down. Its constant deployment is insanely important. Its railgun, the QLS-02 "striker" is slightly more on the light side, being fireable as just another weapon, with insane reload time. The place that its shrinking has freed up has been used for Data relays, making it a mobile base, used to relay orders over wide parts of the world. It also has an oddly expanded hull aligned rocket belt, capable of firing swarms upon swarms of missiles, to target an ludicrous amount of enemies, capable of removing any lesser threat. Its armor is focused on completely reflecting lesser bullets and nullifying heavier shots, using the hyper tension armor type. Along its lower hull it has a special torpedo thrower, countering ships.

The UCSL "Otto von"

Length: 1274 meters.
Deployments: 631.
The otto von approaches the more modern ship mark, being constructed less than 6 years ago. It is a call back to the Nazi warship "Bismarck" and is being used as a German dedicated clean version, encompassing the other half . It has diminished fire power and actually focuses on ship aid and tactical advantages over brute force. Its specialized hull has 6 torpedo throwers, 3 on every side of the ship, with magnetic, unguided and laser targeted torpedoes. It has two internal aircraft catapults, capable of ejecting 5 craft every minute each, unloading the 40 Air superiority fighters that the ship holds in 4 minutes. This gives it more air protection. The UCSL "Headquarters" is a new and advanced vessel, with its number of Deployments in 7 months of driving the oceans. It's a more disarmed vessel, although that doesn't say much. It has 3 frontal tri-barreled 45 inch guns and two on the back, as well as the QSL-04 "Morse", a highly advanced, high fire rate railgun, sometimes used to morse specific codes, while still holding terrorizing accuracy and power. This lack of luster armament is rather intentional, the place that was freed up by it being exchanged with all sorts of communication's relays, optical tools, and similar. State of the are range finder, marking lasers, a triangulation targeting system, a large real time map in the command center, its own comms room, some specialized aircraft, advanced troop quarters, capable of being ejected as landing craft or escape craft. The "headquarters" is reliant on giving info and a mass intel asset. It holds numerous codes, not only service bound but also other military, including all UN patented nations codes and communication ways. The UCSL "juggernaut"

Length: 1092 meters.

The "juggernaut" is a renown service ship. Accumulating 409 deployments in 4 years of service it assumed the role of utter tank and destroyer. The collateral it does is high but the thing surpassing it is its armor. Using reverse Bioengineering, scientists had deconstructed the scale samples of UC-03. This resulted in information about a possible, and expensive, combat armor, which began the project of the "juggernaut". Upon completion it was confirmed to be the strongest service made material in a dense, thick, heavy armor, mighty enough to crush foundations and floor beneath it, turning it unusable anywhere but on the sea and space. As such the armor had been put on a ship, for the low cost of three UCSL ships, to clad one. Despite its vast efficiency, the spending would "limit the number of naval response ships, in accordance with cost" gravely and as such has been disapproved to use on every naval vessel. Back on track, or board, the ship has 11 50 inch tri-barreled guns aiding its plating. The division of the standardized 6 in front, 5 out back. The slot for the sixth hind gun is filled by the twin barreled QSL-05 "violence", a heavy hitting, long charging railgun, benefitting from the fact that its two railgun barrels are close, allowing the fake out fire of one, before using the second one. The ship has no other special armaments to mention, safely.

The UCSL "Enforcer"

Length: 1429 Meters.

With four years of service, the UCSL "Enforcer" has time and time again proven just how ridiculous its firepower is and a heavily used vessel. While the "Enforcer" holds the renowned QSL-06 "Execution", the most powerful railgun, this isn't its whole arsenal. The "Enforcer" is offensively focused, its nuclear cabinet being remade into a special throw launcher, capable of ejecting nuclear warheads swiftly. This does include nuclear torpedoes. Going on an analysis of the ship, one sees that the special mesh armor is made to tank heavy impacts, although the original structure design was made to survive blows and slashes, something akin to kaiju style monsters. In similar fashion, their guns are remodeled to the twin barreled 60 inches, made to penetrate thick hides or scales, similar to the make of the "Otto von". These guns are set 5 to the front, 4 to the back. The frontal slot is replaced by a targeting computer, armed with 2 akira war systems, to intercept missiles and lesser aircraft. Speaking now, we reach the trump, the famed OSL-06 "Execution". This railgun is an oddity. It will have to be charged for 1 minute, where nothing else except the ships movement, GPS and coms are being used. After this minute the crew has 15 seconds to aim and fire it. The railgun is locked in its position, only capable of aiming up and down, the left and right aiming needing to be done by the ship. At the end of these 15 seconds, the ship will face short circuits for 2 minutes, unable to do anything. While these sound like hefty drawbacks, that is because the QSL-06 is immensely powerful. Firing it will cause it to move the ship 3 kilometers in the opposite direction, instantly evaporate and heat up an insane mass of the ocean and destroy many things in its path. The kick back of the gun is enough to set the ship into a 45°, titanic like position, before the main hull is capable of reaching the water again. During the firing procedure all crew is to be OFF deck and secured in crew quarters or by other measures.

The UCSL "second amendment"

Length: 1629 meters

With 3 years of active service the “Second amendment” is the USA dedicated UCSL class. It is heavily armed, armor sitting on the lesser side, only using casual plating. This frees weight for heavy cannons and their ammunition. As such the “Second amendment” has the speciality of multiple Calibers. The front of the ship has 6 Turrets, different in power, by the pair. The lowest 2 Turrets are the standard Tri-barreled 50 inchers. The two central Turrets are the Twin-Barreled 60 inchers, found on the “Otto von” and “Enforcer”. Unique to this behemoth are the 2 two Turrets, either holding a single 70 inch Barrel, boasting the highest non Railgun penetrative and destructive power. Its back is more simple, holding 5 50 inch Tri-barreled guns, as well as the QSL-7 “Liberty”. The QSL-7 is a heavy twin barreled recoil spinner. This means that the Railgun has 2 Barrels that are loaded and charged at the same time. Firing it causes heavy recoil that the engineers made to be rerouted to the left. The UCSL "symphony"

The odd name of this UCSL class ship is found in its eccentric admiral who plays on a Piano during the usage of this behemoth. During the 4 years of service in the Service the Ship has refined coordination of Piano in relation to the heavy 50 inches, their triple barreled guns. 6 of which sit across the front, 5 out to the back, all fine tuned. This ship is focused on an neigh perfect aim setting. it both possesses some of the most advanced targeting computers as well as some of the most trained crew. This makes it a surgically accurate combat vessel, using high range, advanced coordination and high usability. Moreover it also holds a vast amount of other smaller caliber weapons and a figurative forest of anti air Arsenal. The “symphony” takes high pride in the melodic abilities of their turrets and guns, which often are made to resonate within themselves. While this does sound stylised and quite frankly is, it does serve the purpose of better aligning shots with another, resulting in synchronized, armour piercing fire. The railgun, its QSL-8 "Conductor" is also with its quirks. While an average railgun in structure, it has a slightly offset firing mechanism, which beeps a second before firing. This beep allows the entire crew to synchronize with the railguns shot, ending in the most coordinated broadside, which in its entire history of use always only releases one sound.
Current location: Deployment 422: out on the Atlantic, moving over to newfoundland, aiming to transport troops towards UC-14.

The UCSL "Terror"

The last completed prototype Vessel, with the production name of the QXVZ-019, is just 3 months old, yet heavily used. It is a celebration of service ingenuity and adaptability, boasting of insane feats and versatile uses. The ship, now called the UCSL "Terror" has a deserved name. While not armed overly, with standardized, yet mobile cannons, holding 5 tri-barreled 50 inchers in the front and 4 on the back. The first free slot on either side is reserved for a special system, while the second free cannon slot on the back holds a standardized railgun. This is the QSL-09 "hellstorm". This is due to the gun being a quad barreled, special low power chain railgun, with the insane fire rate of 8 shots per minute with no power drop off or accuracy loss for prolonged fire. It also has a specialized lock system, which was set in place by this boats speciality. The reason that the UCSL "Terror" has this special rail gun, as well as two free slots is for its namesake, which stems from the simplest of concepts: The UCSL "Terror" is capable of covering its deck in a 3 meter thick steel plated armor screen, with internal repressuring, and guns functioning underwater. This is so that the UCSL "Terror" in all of its glory may submerge AT WILL giving it an insanity of advantages. The entire ship is modular, with the main ship's screw array gaining the capability of extending and accelerating the ship massively, when fully submerged. It is standard for the crew of the UCSL "Terror" to remain under deck for all of their mission, so as to not be swept away by the process of submerging, which may happen in the span of 20 seconds. This also allows the ship to use less of its space on anti aircraft guns and house more minor combat cannons to fight better. It has 4 guided torpedo launchers, which also fire rc torpedoes if need be. Its strategic value is beyond any normal craft and it played a vital role within the service operations.
Current location: Deployment 73: heading through the ocean with a pass by UC-15-01 as a routine check up. Ship is enroute to naval base "Amiven" for training regiments.

The UCSL “Flare of glory”

The “flare of glory”, a recently retrofitted ship, and a recently retrofitted UCSL class. Its reworking has moved it to the 10th UCSL spot. After its 8 years of service it had some major updates and additions, so here comes the description. The "Blaze of glory" followed the ancient belief that bigger is better. While said belief is utterly false, in its base, there is no debate that this ship is efficient. The unique structure and length of this Vessel allowed the engineers to build 4 throw out designed TRA-172 "Titania" missile pods, one for every corner of the Bridge. Further, the "Blaze of glory" has 7 gun platforms on the back and front, front equipped with 5 standard tri-barreled 50 inch cannons and 2 twin barreled 60 inch cannons. The back, holds 5 tri-barreled 50 inch cannons again, however, the two free slots are occupied by the QSL-10 "Hybria" advanced railgun war system. This occupies 2 of the slots, for a simple reason. The "Hybria" is a core railgun, meaning that it holds power in itself, putting no strain onto the ship when used, besides the kinetic recoil. This allows it to be a battery and to charge in a battle until needed, resulting in varying strikes of different power classes. What makes the "Hybria" advanced however, are the two side mounted "Hwacha" specialized hail missile systems function in accordance with the railguns aiming system, allowing it to be a threat to aircraft and small opponents too, as these missile are of a varying yet specialized type, with high speed engines. Further to be noted is that the "Blaze of glory" has a complex nuclear strike mechanism, couple with the second largest nuclear arsenal on board.
Current Location: Deployment 872: heading towards rendezvous point "Arctic bite" for refueling and meetup with a taskforce.
Next to these combat ships the service has it boasts of a vast core of utility ships and other unmentioned things, for example the UCSSM ship type or Unknown Creature Service Submarine. The most famous is the combat and exploration vessel the UCSSM "trench sweeper"

The UCSSM "Trench sweeper"

Length: 482 meters
The UCSSM "Trench sweeper" is a special, semi combat U-boat. Instead of being an anti Ship, or similar, combat vessel, it is an exploration vessel with secondary armament, in case of hostile encounters. It is powered by a compressed thorium generator, cooled by the ocean depth. Its hull is a special system, the esteemed Vanaral anti weight system. The Vanaral is also built within the HQ, being the same reason that this doesn't break apart. Furthermore this system is the equal ignorance of pressure. While the HQ diverts pressure into heavy support beams, the "Trench sweeper" diverts any sort of pressure into the surrounding area, allowing it an max diving depth of YES (79 kilometers depth at current testing capabilities) and allowing it to explore the deepest cracks of the ocean, storing the data it gathered on the internal "Alexandria" data storage system, with a max capacity of 128 petabyte, to then return to HQ and share its data to the HQ. It also holds a multitude of vaults, designed for the "utter fallout" Protocol, giving the crew the ability to rebuild a failed earth, after nuclear wars or similar. The ration design and filtration system allows for the maximum underwater duration of 150 years with twice the amount of its usual crew. This has granted it the nickname "Thoramic, vault of humanity". Its vitality, importance and emergency protocols require the specifics of its arsenal and armor, as well as its location to remain a secret to anyone except upper command.
Of course, the UC-Service has far more than this, like observation vessels more commonly called "sea eyes" or mobile bases, drill and fishing boats and transports, for example the UTCTV class, or the United Trade Coalition Transport Vessel class, ship types from a service cover cooperation which deals in supply transport and trade. It holds the largest naval vessel that the service has, the non combat vessel more commonly known as the UTCTV "lifeline".

The UTCTV "Lifeline"

The UTCTV "Lifeline" is the most powerful ship of the UCSNF, except that it isn't a combat vessel, being made purely for transportation of ALL sorts of goods, nor part of the UCSNF, but part of the naval cover organization UTC, the United trading corporations. The “Lifeline” is used in service trading operations, resupply missions, troop movements as well as mobile containments. its loading weight is beyond what normal ships can muster. The maximum cargo capacity, thanks to service hull structure and motors, is about 600.000 TEU. This mind numbing capacity is equivalent to roughly 25 Standard, modern cargo ships. As a result the “Lifeline” can single handedly resupply whole armies and whole major outposts, with a single trip. This massive benefit is trumped by the fact that this is a single ship, destruction ending in utter devastation of supply lines. As such the “Lifeline” is to be permanently escorted by any UCSL class ship, a role currently taken over by the UCSL “second amendment” and a furthering fleet. This fleet, as well as the “Lifeline” or to be off radar, for the safety of the ship, comms restricted to the base they are loading at and emergencies.
