As the title says, 2 days ago, my gran had a cardiac arrest. She has very advanced dementia but has a valid DNAR for in place. No external factors leading to the arrest, her heart just gave in. They performed BLS, a crew came and took her to hospital (she also has a respect form) and she is currently recovering in the ICU. (In england)
The care home didn't even tell us about it until we arrived to visit today. When asked why they did life support against her wishes, they said they "forgot she had it in the stress of the moment." To top it off, we were also told that the price of her stay at the care home is going up by 50 quid a week (not really relevant but just seemed a scummy time to bring it up)
We checked the forms and everything is up to date and signed correctly.
Honestly, I have no idea what to do in this situation. Assuming she makes it through the next few days, changing care homes would be too distressing for her. When she was still somewhat lucid, she wanted to die and die with dignity in bed, and it just feels like they've stripped that from her.

I have finished my 3rd year in undergraduate physics mainly. i feel wayward with my studies and want to focus on them properly which i have been unable to do so in the hectic life of university, where im forced to take classes from 9-5 just for attendance where im unable to listen to or understand anything, and later have other commitments and then im drained. i have been studying eniterly on my own the past 3 years and love it that way, so im thinking of taking an year off where among other personal interests, i learn and study loads of GR and QFT. this idea excites me, because i have loved when i did study properly, and think i will be able to learn exponentially more if i actually study consistently which would be significantly easier to do so without university draining the life out of me. some of the stuff that i have studied uptil now is SR, topology, differential geometry, and 2 courses of quantum mechanics, all of which i loved albeit they were all at a very introductory level. but along these i have taken other courses in which i have done terribly, mainly because i didnt study them, and when i think of not studying any of that stuff, its a source of relief.
1 other thing to note is that i will most probably get an internship where i will have a professor to hopefully guide me and meet once a week or so.

Hello! I am currently 19 and attending the University of Washington, going into my sophomore year. I am in a very unique situation and I want to take advantage of it to build some real estate wealth.

1. I have 50k cash on hand and around a 760 credit score.
2. At 25 I will have around 200k cash on hand as well
3. I can (through family) acquire a loan for up to a million dollars at around a 1-2% interest rate. Similar to this, I have family who will cosign onto a regular mortgage.
4. I am on a full ride scholarship so I will have 0 debt

My plan is to attend law school after undergrad. Ideally I would buy a house to live in and rent out at the same time for my juniosenior year, and then rent out the entire thing as I move to law school. Then, I would want to buy a house for my 4 years at law school doing the same thing. The plan would then be to use the 200k cash I would have access to at 25 to buy a nice house to live in, and have two rental properties bringing in cash or at least paying themselves off for the long term. I have a couple of questions about my plan:

1. Is this a reasonable goal? If not, what should my goal be with this type of startup money young?
2. Is Seattle a good market for this in the upcoming year?
3. Should I go for a regular mortgage or FHA loan?
4. How reasonable is it to look for a rental property that will pay back its mortgage or at least a good portion of it (at both a baseline interest rate and the special one I could get.)
5. What price range for properties should I be looking for?
6. What should I look for when identifying a home, specifically for a rental.
7. Where should I look for homes to buy? In person, Zillow, Foreclosures, ect?

I recently took two knives into my local shop in mid Michigan to see what they would buy them for. The first knife was a Spyderco shaman black G 10 scales and coated black S30V blade. Hardly used, no mods, and zero visible wear. The second knife was a Spyderco paramilitary 2 crewcarta. Same deal, hardly use, no mods, and no visible wear.

I got the "battery low on key fob" message, so got the info on the battery to use and replaced it after watching a couple YouTube videos. (There's always something unique.)
After the change, the buttons are not working (lock, unlock). Tried a couple different batteries and same issue. I got the car open and put the fob on the bottom of the storage compartment in between the front seats, and the car does start with it there. Just pushing buttons doesn't work. (I tried my spare fob and it works so I'm using that for now.)
It's pretty hard to put these things back together incorrectly, so I don't think it's a lack of contact. Just to check, I opened it and pushed the buttons directly, so I'm sure they're being depressed.
Anything else I can try before I go the, replace the over-priced fob route?

Which brand Cabin and Engine filters does everyone use? Pricing? Direct link?

So I Got a ticket in Vermont in Winooski outside of Burlington that has private parking garages. These garages are private and enforced by the city, not the police, and I got two parking tickets in one of them. I do not live in Vermont, I live in NY. I will likely never visit Winooski again and quickly forgot about them until I got a letter from the city today at my home. regardless of my personal feelings about the tickets their threats of impounding my vehicle feel very empty, especially since a police officer didn't write the ticket and therefore I didn't actually break a law in Vermont. Should I drop the 50 dollars they're asking for or throw out any mail I get from winooski?
Extra info: I'm going to sell the vehicle and get a new one registered in NY over the summer and I'm probably gonna move soon out west.

Wife and I are closing on a new build next Tuesday. We are buying a house across the country for my wife's new job. Wife is a physician and the realtor we are using is the one the hospital setup to give us a community tour when they flew us out for her interview. He did like 6 virtual tours of houses before we made an offer on one. He setup and was present for inspection. Then we flew out and did a walk-through with a builder rep and he was present for that too. So he has been very helpful and always available.
We won't be there in person for final walk through so our agent is going for us this Thursday. Inspector is going out today to verify all repairs were made that was on the inspection report
Anyways our plan was to hopefully move out there mid June. Unfortunately my wife's residency is kind of screwing her over last minute (story of a resident physician) so looks like we will be moving out there early July (5th or 6th) moving pods are now scheduled
We plan on asking our agent to set the thermostat to eco mode on the day he takes possession of the keys and to shut off water main. He said he has no problem holding onto the keys until we get there

Not much, really the only thing is to get our garage concrete floor epoxy and to seal our concrete driveway. I'm already in talks with a company to do this, they will just need to take measurements and see the area before giving an accurate estimate. So I want to ask our agent if he would be ok to letting them into the garage and driveway and if I decide to use them if he would be ok to let them have access a separate day to do the work (they say they only need a day to get the work done)
Would this be asking too much from him? I don't want to put him in the uncomfortable situation of having to say no or something.

i don’t know how to word any of this but i’m soooo miserable rn i’ve been restricting for a while (i really don’t count my fasts i just don’t eat for as long as possible and when i do it’s just enough to keep me going) and i’m at that point where i just keep throwing up no matter what. if u know u know unfortunately😭😭 it’s so awful. it’s been all water up to this point i just can’t keep anything down and i’ve been so dehydrated but (shocker!!) i don’t want to eat. i tried one of those gatorlyte things like the ultra hydrating gatorade’s and threw the entire thing up like i can’t even keep electrolyte drinks down so idk what to do. i don’t even wanna touch solid food i just feel so awful because the frequency at which i’m throwing up is really bad and it just overall sucks so much i’m in like this permanent state of bed rest until i get up, get sick and get back into bed it sucks so MUCHHHHHHHHHH i’ve been through this a couple times before and usually it ends up causing a binge cycle but for some reason that part of my brain is just gone now like i have no desire to consume anything at all and i’d rather just throw up every second than consume something solid even tho i’m so miserable and realistically this will probably end with me in the hospital again 😭 god i hate the logic of this disorder lmfao.
regarding the tw- i know this isn’t technically purging bc it’s not intentional i just feel like i’m going into too much detail to not tw it as such

So I bought a combat patrol and a boarding patrol. I picked out a color scheme and bought paints, tools, etc. After working for 1-2 hours on assembling my left hand started to hurt alot. If this went away the next day I would keep going doing only an hour or two a night. Problem is it’s three days later and I still am having trouble with my left hand and it is starting to interfere with work. Is there a good way for me to send the boxes to a person/service to have it assembled and painted for a reasonable price or would it make more sense to sell the boxes and just buy a painted army? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
