Arkansas: they have a couple nba prospects in black and nick smith jr. They are a dynamic duo but the team seems sloppy on offense in what little I’ve watched (vs LSU 1/22). I’m noticing they are 2-5 in the SEC, with only one win against a ranked team so far, if I’m not mistaken. So they have some star power but seems like they’d struggle to make a deep run unless they become more disciplined or the stars go to another level. Also a funny little quote from the SEC announcer: “it’s so loud in here you couldn’t hear boss hogg spill a coffee!” Oh, Boss Hog is their mascot, he’s a giant boar. But was the announcer talking about the mascot or the dukes of hazard character??
Alabama: Gritty win on the road against auburn 2/11. This team is deep, talented and tough. Miller is a big, well rounded scorer with a nice handle who is going to be a top draft pick. They have a big shot blocking presence and good shooting/slashing from miller, sears, and others. Not a ton of assists in this game, but their guys got to the hoop well. Some bad turnovers down the stretch but they held on. Undefeated in SEC so far. Game against Tenn will be a big match up. Free throw issues in this one– keep an eye on if that's an issue or maybe just this game. Miller and Sears shoot them well. At Tennessee 2/15: Size, D, and shooting are definitely strengths, and Miller is difficult to stop. One question for this team is what kind of actions can they use to get buckets down the stretch besides just giving the ball to Miller? Jay Bilas pointed out they should use Miller as a screener more, right now there’s a lot of one on one and offense looks kinda stagnant. Lost to Tennessee after some turnovers and stagnant offense late (give Tenn D credit).
Auburn: Broome has good hands for a big guy. They do well in two man game with him. Just got overwhelmed by talent and size of Bama 2/11. I guess this team will be in the tournament, they look OK.
Creighton: Nembhard is a good lead guard. Kaluma is interesting, but still raw. Super athletic but can he hit the 3 enough or handle the ball? They also have a big guy who is pretty effective down low. Struggling to hit threes in this Texas game but I don’t think that’s the norm for them? Noted on 2/11: They've won 8 in a row since the big guy Kalfbrenner came back.
Duke: The big Polish [Filipkowski] sounding guy is skilled offensively . Seems like a balanced team but do they have anyone who can take over down the stretch? Solid guards, but this doesn't seem like the most talented Duke squad. Against VA 2/11 they're showing their strengths and weaknesses, they're big and can score in bunches, but silly turnovers off of bad passes. Filipkowski getting flustered by double teams– how will he handle it when teams scheme against him in the tourney? Also I used to dislike dick Vitales whole shtick but now I find him kind of endearing.
Houston: Watched them come play at Virginia, get down 9-0 to start the game, and not get rattled and come back. Sasser and walker are both excellent, versatile players. Good defense and offense. Team has serious potential to make a run, based on this game. Sasser hurt in conference tournament, but seems like his resting in final was just precaution.
Indiana: Tres Jackson-Davis is big, blocks shots, plus is actually bringing the ball up court. Interesting. Outplaying Bacot 11/30. Watched a later game of theirs and was not as impressed by Trace– they want to have him in a sort of point forward role but his vision isn’t great yet. Nice win against Purdue at home 2/4. Great D down the stretch. Hood-Schifino gives them another top notch weapon to compliment Jackson-Davis.
Kansas: a lot of big players with large wingspans. Could create problems for smaller teams. Struggled offensively vs Tennessee when I watched earlier in year, but have looked good in later games. Watched against TCU on 2/19– Wilson, their leading scorer, was off but they still found other ways to score and win on the road. That ability to win in different ways helps in the tourney. Gradey Dick is a top prospect who will probably be NBA lotto pick. He's coming on strong later in the year and his catch and shoot gives them another dangerous weapon.
Kansas State: No. 11 Johnson def has a wide frame and can hit the three. Not a great ball handler tho. Massoud is also big and lanky, though his frame is not quite as wide. Nowell, a guard, is their most skilled scorer but he’s only 5-8 and I saw him get rejected pretty bad against Okla. St. a couple times (2/25). Still, he’s a good ball handler and free-throw shooter, which is helping them down the stretch in this game. Cam Carter is handling the ball a lot, but seems a little hesitant with his shot (3/4).They are apparently struggling on the road. It seems like a pretty dangerous match up for most teams, but they have some weaknesses.
Memphis: Kenric Davis is excellent point guard. Brilliant passer with tight handle. Fun to watch.
NC State: an interesting team with good D and good guard play from Terquavion Smith. They like to give it to the big guy burns to bang in the post or play-make from the elbow; he's actually a great passer, but lack of a jumper limits him a bit as teams just sag off. They lost the game at Syracuse 2/14, in part due to some sloppy transition D, but this team has an intriguing combination of defense, size, and shooting based on what I've seen.
Purdue: Edey is a gigantic force, though a bit slow and clunky. His hook shot looks pretty unstoppable against most defenders. Guard play seems a little weak, not a lot of playmaking down the stretch from the pg who lacks an explosive first step. He doesn't look especially quick or dangerous, which led them to struggle down the stretch when not feeding Edey. Lost at Indiana by 3 on 2/4, tho major homefield advantage, obviously. This is a good team but feels more like sweet 16 than national champion to me idk. Watched in Big10 final against Penn State and they handled Penn St. well until late, when they almost blew a big lead. Missed a lot of free throws and their guards still don’t seem especially good. They’ve proven they’re legit and earned a #1 seed, but I still have doubts about how they’ll hold up over the whole tournament. We’ll see.
SDSU: Like most SDSU teams, this one is primarily defensive. Started out slow vs Utah St in Mountain West Championship, but then were able to get their offense going and clamp down on D. Offense doesn’t look particularly impressive. It’s not terrible, but they’re slow, methodical, and lack a dynamic scorer. Bradley, their best scorer, looks solid and strong, not super dynamic. If they win, its going to be through a combo of excellent defense and serviceable offense. They’re a deep team and bring in a lot of good players off the bench, according to the announcer. Ledee, a big forward who can hit jumpers, seems to be one such player. Nice combo of size and quickness.
Texas: watched vs Creighton 12/1. This team has three really good guards: Rice, Carr, Hunter. Nice ball movement, decisive, getting good shots even when not hitting. I like the way this team plays based on what I’ve seen. So basically they’re always gonna have two good ball handleplaymakers on the floor at all times which helps in March. What about outside shooting? Haven’t impressed much in that regard but they’re getting good shots and moving the ball around well. 12/6: Also looked good again Illinois with nice guard play. Allen, a key forward, is brother of Teddy Allen so you know he has that dawg. Nice defense making it tough and collapsing quickly on drives. Execution not great down stretch vs Illini– who is go to guy if they need a bucket? Shooting better from outside 12/6 tho. Also just learned they are really good at free throw shooting (best in Big 12). Obviously, loss to Baylor was a road game against a good team, but it is not a good sign that they got killed in rebounding. This is a team that always seemed a little undersized to me when watching, so that might be a weakness against bigger teams.
Texas A&M: Really struggling to score at Mississippi State (2/25). Wade Taylor IV seems like a good point guard who can get in the lane, but the team was generally struggling to get good looks on shots and passes; lots of turnovers. They have a high-rated offense on KenPom but looked flustered (to be fair, it is on the road against a great defense).. Big win vs. Alabama ¾. Only caught the end, but I also watched them lose to Miss St. last week. One thing I’m noticing with this team is they are good at getting to the line and shoot a high FT%. It’s kind of their go-to move late in the game. That could help in March, although the rest of their offense doesn’t seem particularly impressive.
UCLA: watched vs Oregon 12/4. Love Jacquez Jr. not the most athletic but a smart all around player and great competitor. I think if he can stay healthy they could make another run. Also brought back the pg with dreads who is solid and added a new talented freshman. Update 3/6: While this team continues to be one of the best in the nation, a key defender, Jaylen Clark, seems to have suffered a significant leg injury...
UConn: great rebounding team with starting PF Adam sonogo controlling the offense with his Zach Randolph offensive abilities plus 7 foot C daneil clingan coming off the bench who is really good. Guard play is pretty solid all around and SF Andre Jackson plays excellent dee and can score in a variety of ways
Utah St: Started out hot against SDSU, but seem more gassed as the game goes on. They have a little guard, Ashworth, who is a top 10 three point shooter in D-1, so he could go off. Good at moving off the ball, too, so they do a lot of actions to spring him when they need a bucket. Offense looked good in the beginning, great pick and roll game, but they seem to have struggled to get it going after fatigue sets in against this tough SDSU defense.
Virginia: This seems like a pretty typical Tony Bennet team: disciplined, balanced, good D, but slow paced and not amazing at scoring the ball. They play as a team, no big star but bunch of good players. Against Duke 2/11 they've been great at forcing turnovers and making filipowski uncomfortable, but struggling to capitalize on the offensive end and trailing at the half (they ended up winning in OT). They have a couple good forwards who are money from the elbows and good at rebounding and D. I think one of them got hurt.
West Virginia: I like the little guard Toussaint transfer from Iowa but he’s undersized and not a great shooter. Watching against K-State on 3/4 they look a lot better than early in the year (the riotous home crowd is helping). Stevenson has hit 5 threes and their offense looks more fluid. Seems like with this win they’ll be in. Checked them again Against Texas Tech 3/8- they are lookin solid. Stevenson is got it going recently and really gives them an extra pop on offense when he's cooking. Rebounding looks pretty good, though the bigs aren't too skilled offensively.
Xavier: Sulae Boum, their point guard, is a baller. Great moves. Colby Jones looks a good shooter and defender, a good compliment to Boum, who seems a little undersized. Their offense looks good, they are making good passes and getting good shots at Providence 3/1. Nunge seems like a decent big, but their front court depth has been an ongoing concern, according to the announcers. Fremantle, a key forward, should be back for the tournament but his foot is a concern (nvm he is out).

For context I am a 22 male passing but trans-non-binary person. I present in every way as a man except my hair which is long and always in a bun. I work in deep west Texas every week, so I never introduce myself as non-binary or using they/them pronouns out of fear.
I went out to Twin Peaks for a few drinks alone because that’s just what I do when I’m out of town for work. The waitress (id guess was 20-25) was nice and fun like how they usually are, and in no way did I attempt or have I ever attempted to flirt or try to hit on my servers. They are working and I see it as wildly inappropriate.
Anyways, she waited on me and was nice and one point leaned on the table and really started talking to me. Not about food or drink but like she was working for the tip/just being friendly. I also mentioned a few times I was married, and that my wife didn’t see me going to twin peaks as a bad thing. We continued to talk after that. I was friendly back and explained what I was doing in town and why I was here. I also explained why I was waiting around til 10pm to leave. The lotto went off at 10pm.
She left and came back a couple of times and started asking me about the lotto. At 9:55 she comes and sits down at my table and starts talking for a few minutes.
Here’s the kicker… she said she really likes talking to me and asks if she can get my snap and asks if i wanted to hang out after she gets off at 2 or whatever with the phrase “not like a date, just as platonic friends.” She also mentioned her a boyfriend a couple times in convo. Well I of course give her my snap but said no I can’t hang out tonight, but tomorrow night if she doesn’t work I’d be down. She said she didn’t work and that we could go to her preferred bar. My Snapchat name is presented as my name and my pronouns they/them.
She left off after I found out I didn’t hit the lottery to take care of a different table and I finished my drink and started to leave but came up to her and said “hey I’m gonna go but will I see you tomorrow?” And she said “yes! I’ll message you!”
I sent her a message that next day around 6pm when I got off work and she never responded. Obviously you don’t go out for drinks that early but…
I’m just curious what y’all think happened? Did I throw any red flags out? Did I do the wrong thing by messaging? It’s hard to make friends as adults, so this felt like a godsend. Just for it not to happen.
Edit: I should mentioned I had already paid the bill and left a 35% tip, which is the usual for me because I try to appreciate service industry, BEFORE she asked me for my snap. And she saw and took the ticket away also.

Okay we’ve talked a lot about it and these seem to be the major issues that my fellow Texans are concerned about so I’m proposing the following. Legalize the cultivation, sale, and possession, of marijuana. With the following stipulations. License to grow and sell at home. $100 renewed annually. No felony priors for the last ten years. A home cultivator can grow up to 40 plants at a time and be in possession of up to 120 ozs. Sale to a licensed dispensary will be taxed at 20% the cost of sale (home grower sets his or her prices… let the market do it’s thing). Retail license to sell. $2000 license fee renewed annually. All retail sales of marijuana products and periphery are taxed at 20%. By my estimate this can create up to $600 billion in taxes and probably more. Those taxes will be sent directly to education by school district and a formula will be applied for size of district, number of students, etc.. This will make a small dent in school budgets but won’t really make a huge difference. LGBT All laws previous that have potentially removed basic human rights for someone who is LGBT are immediately repealed. There shall be no law enacted that in any way erodes those right. Any harassment of or physical attack of someone simply because they identify with the LGBT community will be viewed and prosecuted as a hate crime. Womens rights Abortion ban immediately repealed. As above There shall be no law enacted in any way that erodes womens rights. Education reform. Obviously the marijuana tax will help some but it’s not enough. Texas lotto brought in 1.2 billion of tax revenue last year. I want to divert at least half of those funds to schools and there will be caveats. No administrator will be allowed to receive in salary / benefits more than 4 times the amount of the lowest paid full time teacher in the district. Want to hold on to your $400 k a year salary mr. superintendant? Better figure out a way to pay your teacher at least $100,000. If that’s not enough for you I suggest you seek other employment. Additionally no more than 15% of the yearly budget for schools can go to sports and the money is to be shared equally across all sports. Another 15% is budgeted for other extracurricular activities. This money is inclusive of booster donations and other types of fund raising activities. Universal basic income. Again calculated by geography. A one bedroom apartment in small town central Texas doesn’t cost as much as one in Houston so a formula needs to be come up with to pay everyone over the age of 18 a basic income that pays for rent, utilities needed (electricity, internet, cell phone, water and / or gas), a basic amount for a monthly car payment. Not a brand new $60,000 truck but a base coupe of good repair cheapest on the market. HOWEVER unless you are completely unable to work you can not stay on UBI if you are unemployed for over six months. UBI is cut off when you reach a certain income level. I’m thinking $70,000 Universal affordable health care. Paid for by the recipient but on a sliding scale. Make less than 17K your zero deductible and $5 per prescription is $25 a month. Premium goes up the more you make. This is to include psychological care for people who have mental health issues. Minimum wage. $25 an hour for everyone over the age of 18. Between 15 and 18 it’s $17 an hour. Any business caught price gouging customers will be subject to extreme fines. People between 15 and 18 are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week unless they apply and are approved for a hardship that will allow up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Flat tax on all business profits 17%. No loopholes, tax breaks, or any way of skirting the tax. The funds from those taxes will be used to throw into the education pot, infrastructure, and funding the government. Term limits across the boards 2 term max. Any office you hold however you can hold another office. Texas always needs animal control officers. Gun control 5 round max capacity for any weapon classified as ‘assault’ style. No one under the age of 21 may purchase of possess without the presence of an adult age 22 or older. Open / concealed carry. You must undergo and pass a psychological test given by a licenses professional therapist prior to receiving your license for concealed or open carry. Additionally you must carry at all times a card showing that you have attended range training signed by a certified range officer of a local firearm facility in the last month and taken a course on combat training by a Texas certified instructor every three months. DUI laws I’m open to suggestions on this one but I want ‘officers discretion’ removed from the possible reasons for arrest. Breath and blood test is good enough. I’d also like to add third party verification of all tests given and taken.
Legalized sports betting Surprisingly to me there was a lot of support for that. Okay let’s go. More tax revenue to put into education and law enforcement.
LEO certification and behavioral standards All LEO’s are required to have a review by a third party panel including psychological evaluation every year. Additionally they are REQUIRED to receive combat training once a month from a certified combat trainer monthly. Firing a weapon towards someone not pointing a weapon at you or an animal is grounds for immediate termination and legal prosecution.

This event's honestly kind of weird, because the overall Total Efficiency is mostly really flat. Everything's hovering around a Total Efficiency of 1 if not higher, other than Texas Beyond. Further, Dark Maanna is the second least efficient. Kind of unexpected for such a late event node, but the math don't lie! Anyways, technically it's possible for most of these nodes to be about equivalent with farming Free Quests, while also getting shop mats!
To limit our analysis, we're going to examine all the nodes whose Total Efficiency is greater than 1.1. If you want to know if Death Csejte or Abyss Sargasso are unusually good for you, best way to find out is to make a copy of the sheet and fiddle with the 'Mat' tab to your preferences.
The above stipulation leaves Fantasy Planet Caribou and both sides of Vagrant Planet Arton.
Fantasy Planet Caribou: Drops Dragon's Reverse Scale and Dragon Fang. With a starting Total Efficiency of 1.188 and a minimum of 0.709, it doesn't look too hard for this planet to be worth farming if you want dragon drops. If you don't care about Avalon le Fae drops, Void Dust, or Poison Needles, that minimum easily rises to 1.065. That makes this a seemingly good place to farm for some dragon drops.
HOWEVER, sometime around June we're probably getting Grand Nero Fest. Grand Nero Fest's Champion round in the Prelims has a Wing drop rate with a staggering 25.26%. Further, the famous upcoming Summer event has treasure chests which drop Reverse Scales, and one of the nodes in that event ALSO drops Scales at ~20%. Putting this together, if you can wait half a year, there's a huge bounty on the gold drop here.
Vagrant Planet Arton: Drops Eggs of Truth and Homunc Babies. With a starting Total Efficiency of 1.275 and 0.807, this node is also okay. Not worth farming either of the materials on their own. Eggs have some unusually efficient nodes which are the only ones that drop them, meaning you have to not care about Gears, Arrowheads, and Void Dust to make it worth farming this node. Node looks even better if you don't care about Wine.
As far as future proofing this node, not a lot of upcoming events have great drops for Eggs, surprisingly. The Summer 2022 Rerun will have an Egg node that's only a little more efficient than this one at 1.293, that also drops Mystic Spinal Fluids instead of Homunc Babies. The Egg Drop rate itself is also slightly better (20.82% vs 19.46%). The big thing is that next Christmas (literally a whole year from now) has its 2nd best node drop Eggs at 21.05%, as well as Ghost Lanterns. It is also one of the best nodes to farm lotto mats. So this Egg farming location is respectable as long as you don't want to wait a year (worth noting that all 4 Free Quests which drop Eggs have a Total Efficiency of 1.5 or higher, though, so if you care about the mats in those Free Quests they're just better).
Vagrant Planet Arton (Backside): Drops Fragments of Twinkling Star and Stakes. The new node for the rerun. Has a starting Total Efficiency of 1.633 and a minimum Total Efficiency of 0.989. To clarify, this means that no matter what other mats you care about farming, this node is worth farming for both Star Frags and Stakes when compared to Free Quests. So this node looks awesome right out the gate. Its Star Frag efficiency is also higher than 1 on its own, so it's theoretically possible to justify farming this node just for Star Frags. Not for Stakes, though. In order to justify farming for only Star Frags against Free Quests, you need to not care about Serpent Eyes, Silvery Crowns, Spiritrons, or Shells.
Unfortunately for this node, Star Frags are showing up a few times in later events. For one, they're dropped in Summer 2023's treasure chests as well as dropped in one of its nodes. For two, it shows up in the Grail Live Collab (Approx April) at a slightly higher drop rate alongside Ghost Lanterns instead of Stakes. For three, it shows up in Hunting Quest 10 and 12, with 10 also occurring in April. The Total Efficiency of that node is 3.351, with a drop rate of almost 40% for the Star Frags themselves.
Still, since many players are probably going to farm the Vagrant Planet Arton for the shop mats anyway (if you can, at least), the drop rate for Star Frags or Eggs of Truth are good enough that they'll easily tide you over until some of these other events happen.

Hey community + Wubby I thought I'd highlight some BS that guy pulled in Wubby's story, with some explanation that causes this shit. While his attitude is inexcusable, despite 7-11 being one of the worst retail jobs you could work outside Amazon, it's not unreasonable.
We were explicitly told to never keep more than $50 in the register. Despite having mass amounts of customers, we would be punished if our Ass. Manager caught us with large amounts of not only Cash, but COINS. Could be shitty management, but they told us they were yelled at, and we're passing the sentiment from corporate.
What's bullshit is the safe. Now, it's really dangerous working at a gas station at night. I once had a man threaten to kill me over a $0.99 hot dog. But pulling money out of the safe has a timer on it. You can't just rip out as much as you want. What's MEGA BULLSHIT is 7-11's corporate policy on Lotto Payout. Now, I live in Texas, and the Texas Lottery is weird compared to other states, but it seems like this is across state lines: Do not, under any circumstance, unless you HAVE TO, pay out $100 to the customer, with that number fluctuating for bigger and smaller locations.
Don't lie (but actually lie because if you don't we'll punish you, no blood on corporate's hands) but do everything you can to convince them to spend their Lotto winnings on items in the store, or have them buy MORE Lotto tickets. (imagine trying to spend $100 in a gas station btw)
And don't get me started on the bullshit "bending the legal line" 7-11 forces their employees to do.

As I've stated before, it's a good alternative for those who prefer a game with slightly better odds for the jackpot, $1 tickets and are turned off by the circus that MM and PB have become. They are great to get if you ever pass through Texas. I know of upper class Mexican nationals that pick up Lotto Texas tickets.
Unlike California SuperLotto Plus, Lotto Texas is single matrix which I feel is less intimidating for many, too. Not to mention Texas is anonymous for cash value prizes and doesn't have state income tax. Again, unlike California.
It's worth mentioning that Texas is unique in that you make the choice cash value vs. annuity when you purchase the ticket not when you claim, but by default vending machines give you a cash value ticket and cashiers 99% of the time understand cash is what people want. You have to request an annuity ticket but essentially nobody does.

Fortunately for Texans, Texas has a pretty good state game that one can play in lieu of PB or MM. Jackpots can still be decent (starts at 5 mil annuitized but often goes way higher, its at 24.5 mil annuitized now). Odds are an order of magnitude better than the national games -- 1 in 25 mil. Tickets are a dollar. It draws 3 times a week just like PB Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Also, another thing I love about it is that the drawing is at 10:12 PM and by 10:30ish you know if somebody won as it's only in Texas.
