I am constantly trying to find and come up with supernatural powers that aren't cliche or at least have a somewhat different approach to them.
And I'd like to hear about your characters with unique sets of abilities.
I'll go first with my favorites from my concept of a Post Apocalyptic Superhuman World:
1) Plothole: the more he talks to you (especially in private) the more he can insert himself in your memories, he can make you remember things that never happened, basically altering your whole life to include him as your brother, lover or anything else. If a victim ever finds out the truth they go in a state of shock because of the two life's worth of memories both collapsing on top of each other, most never recover.
2) Overkill, the MC. Has the ability to send a blast of energy powerful enough to defeat the threat he is facing. Basically his level is variable. This does not make him omnipowerful tho as his body takes a toll on powerful attacks, also a burst of anger can also increase your perception of a "threat" meaning it can activate at way higher levels than necessary if the user is clouded by anger. The blast also is very hard to direct and usually leaves lots of collateral damage, but this suits the "by all means necessary" mindset of the MC.
3) Parasyte: can transfer his consciousness into another person, abandoning the current body/or giving back control to the original owner. Side effect: over a period of time the body in use starts to decompose, this way the user is trapped in a constant hunt for pray, like a parasyte. Inspired by SCP 035

I pay for Uber One, I use the 40% promo quite a bit but I only use it at 2 or 3 places. 2 very common ones have been Jersey Mikes and Zalat Pizza. If I go to any of these places it shows the promo as available on the main 'page' with the green highlight and blurb about available promos but once I add things to my cart and go to checkout, they are not auto applied and if I try to apply one, it shows them as unavailable.
About a month or so ago I noticed when I click on the promo and asked it to show available spots, most things near me were suddenly gone and it wanted me to order from places 8 - 10 miles away. I tried using it by just going direct to vendor and ordering anyway and they were still available to use and so I did. I copied it into my Notion and while I can edit the items in the card view and such of the database, the text and such on the buttons does not update, and I can't hit them at all? They're greyed out with a red caution symbol and when I mouse over them, it says 'You don't have permission to run this button' but I don't know why I wouldn't? It's my personal notion, I'm the owner and I have full workspace permissions according to the settings. I can't edit anything when you hit the individual button's settings icon, either, presumably because I don't have permissions for some reason. TLDR: I out earn my partner 350% and it’s wearing on me. He doesn’t seem to mind.
I have spent 2.5 years encouraging my partner to pursue his associates. When I first brought it up, he mentioned that he had begun an ABA (Associates of Business) at our local community college, but dropped out due to poor grades. At the time, he felt he was wasting his money. I believe him, having looked at those grades. He would’ve been better off waiting - he’s really screwed himself by half-assing this. His standing GPA is far too low for any sort of subsidy - even in a state that now offers free college tuition to local schools for local residents. Today, however, he owns and operates a bicycle repairetail shop with a partner.
He and his partner pay themselves less than the state minimum wage in order to keep their shop afloat. This is only legal because they are the owners. I don’t have the numbers in front of me but it’s something like $11/hour and 32 hours/week that they actually extract from their business.
My partner and I do not live together because we can’t afford it. I live in one of five units on an old (1930s) multi-generational property that has been split into separate dwellings. When one of my neighbors left after a year of dating this guy, he leapt at the opportunity and now lives in that corner of the property. So we’re neighbors, effectively. We’re actually very lucky that the landlord here is an actual person and also a really nice guy. My partner pays $600/month and no utilities. I pay $630/month + electric and gas. So about $750.
We want to move in together, but he a musician and I an artist, we need at minimum one extra room for our respective practices. I personally demand some amenities; I need laundry in unit, a dishwasher, no carpets (we both have cats), and a backyard that isn’t too spooky. Our little town has seen an influx lately and anything like that is going to run about $1900-2500/month. We both need to contribute if we want this, and my partner says he does.
I work full time and pull about $3K home per month. My employer is the community college that my partner flunked out of. As part of my job, I have been made aware of the recent changes to local law, which allow local residents to attend this school for free. The only requirements are that you live and pay taxes here for 2 years, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Born and raised here, my partner remains unqualified based on his abysmal GPA.
Without the scholarship, it still costs peanuts compared to what I paid for my education. I’ve explained to him that the GPA is averaged, and he could take a course that suits him and do well, in order to raise that grade. After which point he could pursue any degree at zero cost. I offered to pay for those interim courses. Art history? Geography? Photography? ANYTHING. I’ll pay the $100/credit hour to help you finish this, because I cannot carry both of us.
He sulks. It’s too hard, I guess. I’ve known him for more that a decade but it’ll be 3 years since we started canoodling this October. In September, I plan to ask him again if he’ll go back to school. If he says no, I think I’ll have to break up with him. I dislike ultimatums, and worry that I’m being unfair.

I know that the protected flex Friday normally pays out the promo funds by noon the next day, but I had two golf entry’s on my flex Friday slip yesterday that kept the slip still active until about 2pm today. The golfers were in action yesterday and weren’t supposed to be playing for that slip today, the round was just suspended so that’s why the slip stayed active until past noon today. Hello community,
I recently got diagnosed with ADHD at 31 by the leading psychiatrist in my province (I'm Canadian). It comes as a shock as I always thought I had just had depression and anxiety ( I have co morbid panic disorde/GAD, Insomnia) .I have been on clonazepam and mirtazpine for these symptoms and have used cannabis daily for about 15 years. My psychiatrist didn't catch it and another made the diagnosis. I was prescribed Vyvanse 30mg to start at 40mg as well( holy fuck this stuff is expensive ☠️). I'm wondering how others have come to terms with this diagnosis later in life as I feel like I've been sleeping walking through life until now. The first 3 days on Vyvanse 30mg I was able to function to a high degree at a new and difficult sales job, that normally I probably wouldn't be able to pull off with all the brain fog, lack of motivation, being easily distracted and interrupting people or not actively listening. I don't feel even an increase in heart rate when I take it and it almost calms me down more than my clonazepam. I just can't believe I've been living like this unmedicated. I never once used an amphetamine drug before ,only ritalin and modafinil in university which pretty much were the only reason I graduated university. The long and the short, I feel kind of guilty having to take this class of medication as I'm already on benzodiazepines which are stigmatized and now amphetamines which also are. I feel sub human for having to take this even though I finally feel functional. Has anyone else had a late diagnosis and how did you come to terms with it ? I feel a lot of anger and frankly feel stupid for not seeking help sooner especially considering my degree is in psychology. I just feel like I should have known better. Just needed to vent. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Started playing last year regularly after a 20 year layoff.Tracking my handicap on 18 birdies last year my handicap was 30.2. Today I shot 91 which is opening day of our season so handicaps now can be calculated. My strategy 1) no fucking driver-risk vs reward doesn't add up.I practice with it at driving range and cut it down 1 1/2 inches.Its still not as consistent as my 4 iron off the Tee. 2) Focus on hitting the green and staying on the fairway.I hit 4 iron off the tee or 3 hybrid which generally goes between 180/220. 3) line up every putt with marked ball lines on ball and don't take lazy putts. 4)Take it hope by hole shot by shot don't look at total score. 5) even on shanked shots keep eye on the ball So I know where it is no lost ball penalties.

color: it doesn't smell like the bounce dryer sheets but it still the image i get with the bright orange box and the dry powdery but weirdly still humid dryer sheets
ART STAR this perfume is daddy issues, the moment i smelled it, it made me think of all the boys i "loved"\ in highschool*

color: it like quebon chocolate milk, in a tall and thin glass and a few cookie (the one that has jam in the middle and a circular hole so you can see the jam on the first layer)
SCARDY CAT this is the best on a cozy sweater when you feel like absolute crap

thoughts: this is so interesting, it starts fruity, sour and a little floral but the dry down is creamy, and peppery, it not for me anymore cuz it started to give me headache recently but i still love it
color: a little recipe for a nice tea, so you will take a few things, most important, oolong tea, milk and brown sugar, if you can rice milk but honestly any milk you like will work, oolong is supposed to be brewed at 85 degrees, it is not that important but if you can do it do it, in you tea ball put oolong (add a tiny bit of citrus (either yuzu or just basic lemon) skin and 1-3 black peppercorn if you can you don't have to) then on a pan take water and brown sugar (the same amount) and cook it until it boil, remove from fire and wait until it a little less hot to put the syrup at the bottom of your drinking cup, in the same un clean pan put some water and boil it, when it boiling remove from fire and wait 2 minutes (it should be 85 degrees after 2 minutes) you can now brew your tea ball for like 1 to 5 minute depending on how strong you want your tea, then put the water in your cup and top of with milk, you can warm the milk if you want something super hot but am sensitive to temperature so i just put cold milk.. last touch if you have it you could had 1 drop (1 DROP) of orange flower water if you want to had a floral quality that would be interesting to it, but you don't have to at all soooo you now get a hope tea (if you try this drink come talk to me i want to know what you think of it, i made the recipe for it to have 3 version in 1: the easy no ingredient, the medium some ingredient and the hard with everything)

Two very different vibe though, milk shaka is the beach scent by excellence to me and taro milk tea is a creamy, sweet, warm, purpleness with a touch of brown sugar, it so soft and sweet and pretty it one of the stereoplasm scent that everyone agree with it just great

According to the lawsuit, Long and her daughter purchased the baby goat while the child was enrolled in 4-H, a youth agriculture program popular in rural California. The intention of the program was that the goat would be raised by the family and eventually sold. But the girl, who is not even 10 years old, grew attached to Cedar. In June, when it was time to sell Cedar at a local fair livestock auction, she was “sobbing in his pen beside him”, the lawsuit states.
