They gave him no contract, and no terms. The only proof he has that he's worked there is the email saying that they're going to the police for this non existent shirt that he already handed in. It apparently belonged to a client but he wasn't exactly free to choose what that client is.
He did quit within the first week fwiw. He was made to go through their training, and he was made to then go on a door to door sales. Surely a self employed person wouldn't require training?

It’s my birthday today. My bf dropped off a gift earlier in the week to unwrap. Previously, I had straight up told him I wanted something meaningful for birthday gifts like a necklace or jewelry piece rather than something functional.

I was set to buy the Legion 5i Pro or Legion 7i, both from 2022. However, I've noticed that retailers paused their listings and that the prices on Lenovo's website actually increased for some reason beyond my comprehension (even with 2 coupon codes and their "sales").
This laptop has a 12gb 180w TGP RX 6800m GPU. I'm more familiar with the Nvidia cards, so I'm not sure if this one is good enough for 1440p gaming.

I was just thinking about the true heyday of the CD, and how brief that time really was. Here's what I'm thinking. . .
1982–1989: Explosive Growth
8-track was rapidly disappearing, LP was already in decline, and Compact Cassette was the hot, growing format. . . until CD came along and walloped them all with its rapid acceptance. Early CDs were not always the best-produced, in terms of sound quality and mastering. A huge number of audio engineers had to quickly learn this new technology, and some of them were a little shaky at first.
Also, after the CD became a smashing success, record companies discovered that a lot of people were willing to shell out surprisingly large amounts of money to re-purchase music they already owned. So, there was a massive push to get the back catalog of popular music out on CD. Most of these CDs were mastered by-the-numbers to sound as much as possible like the LP version—because that was quick and easy, and because it's what people wanted at the time.
Also, packaging tended to be rudimentary, especially on those back catalog releases. LP releases got the gatefold, the liner notes, etc. CDs got a dinky insert. (It was better than a cassette insert, though!) Albums were still generally produced with 45 minutes of music to fill a LP, which meant most CDs, even new releases, had a lot of unused capacity. The LP was still the premium format and the driver of design and production decisions. The CD was a compromised product.
1990–1997: The Golden Age
Some time around 1990 there was a shift, as LP sales fell off a cliff. The LP was no longer treated as the primary product. Now we started getting 60+ minutes per album. That meant the LP had to either drop some "bonus tracks" or become a double-LP, if it was even produced at all. The LP had become a compromised product. We also started getting more elaborate CD booklets, screen printed art on the disc, etc. By this time engineers had become comfortable with digital technology and routinely were making the CD sound really good.
This was they heyday of popularity and sales for the CD. For collectors today, discs produced in this time period are a safe bet for overall production value and sound quality.
1998–Present: Loudness Wars and Decline
The Loudness Wars didn't hit all at once, and we could argue about when this trend became a problem. I've chosen 1998, because I've seen statistics showing that this was about the time it became really egregious and objectionable. The absolute worst offenses seem to have occurred around the early 2000s, but the problem of hyper-compression is still very much with us right up to today.
As for popularity of the format. . . The original MP3.COM was launched in 1997. Napster launched in 1999. The Apple iPod was introduced in 2001. These were portents of doom for the CD as a dominant means for most people to get their music.
