Martha Stewart, 81, on cover of Sports Illustrated

2023.05.30 19:28 WittyDisk3524 Martha Stewart, 81, on cover of Sports Illustrated

I’m speaking generally about straight men and women below. Not trying exclude anyone. This is just what I’ve learned regarding straight men and women. I’d love to hear thoughts from anyone as to what they find attractive or the type of person they are attracted to.
I just read an article from a journalist talking about beauty, etc. I started thinking about what makes a woman beautiful. Here’s my thoughts… it seems the public finds a woman attractive when she exudes her feminine energy and feminine power. Feminine energy includes ones appearance, posture, attitude and more but isn’t all encompassing in those.
We have all seen society deemed “hot” men with an average looking female, why is that? Because those females exude feminine energy even tho not classified as attractive females. Men are attracted to this naturally. I keep reading and learning about men and what attracts them to certain females. Men, in general, do not want a woman with masculine energy. When we women do this, it doesn’t allow the man to be the man.
I’ve never thought of Martha Stewart as being an attractive woman, again, society deemed attractive. Yet on the cover of SI she projects her feminine energy and I now see her as attractive. Not because she’s showing any body parts either. I can see it on her face, in her eyes particularly.
Just some food for thought when many ask “what can I do to be prettier”. It has to come from within…

I follow this other creator named saltandsagenutrition and she’s awesome, does a lot of what she calls “copycat” recipes and always notes where she copied from and remakes things over months etc. anyway, she’s really awesome and she’s a registered dietician and admits she isn’t a chef or anything. And gives good weekly menus that are simple and use variations of the same ingredients so you aren’t wasting food or buying stuff you’ll only use once - something I noticed that Brocc isn’t always concerned with since she isn’t on a budget but some of us probably are.
Sageandsalt is also doing her version of Julie & Julia and cooking her way through Martha Stewart’s cook book - it’s cute!!

2023.05.29 22:27 Expensive_Moment_959 [General] Fruiting chamber build

I'm fairly new to growing mushrooms. I've had moderate success this far by using unmodified 12qt tubs using another tub on top. I mist as needed, really don't fan much as I feel that I have sufficient fae happening by simply sliding the top tub off the back a little. all this happens in a closet with a small space heater, on low with a controller, I have substrate Temps of around 76 degrees typically I have a grow light on a 6hr cycle during the day, with the closest door cracked about 2 inches. In anyone's opinion if I construct a martha style tent, so I can keep the same variables I have, but with the inclusion of a humidifier such as the ones for reptile terrariums (on a controller)and a 4in in line fan for fae ducted outside, will this streamline the process of fruiting? no more misting or fanning lids. the reason why this is even a concern, is I'm not home everyday because of work and the Mrs looks after them for me. another question would be contamination. what's the cleaning intervals on a tent? if one tray gets contamination you're practically screwed right? thoughts and advice needed. sorry for the long post.

Soapstone Sundays - Breakfast Sausage patties
Here's a recipe I do often, but took it to the soapstone instead of my frying pan for a more fun and cleaner cook. The non stick feature is a dream here.
This is based off the Martha Stewart recipe, with a couple changes. I did a big yield so I can make plenty of breakfasts handy in the freezer.
  • 3 lbs ground pork
  • 3 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp sage powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp thyme powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp fennel seeds ground to powder
  • few pinches nutmeg
  • 3 tsp salt
  • ground pepper to taste
  • 1 egg to help bind
Preheat the kamado joe with the soapstone and charcoal on one side underneath the soapstone. Get it heat soaked and to a clean burn. The dome will read about 350.
Meanwhile, mix all patty ingredients together and form into small patties. 3lbs pork will do 24 patties.
The classic sized soapstone will fit 6 patties at a time. Place patties on soapstone and fry until about halfway cooked (roughly 3-5 min)
Flip once to finish until 165 minimum on thermometer.
Leave patties whole for sausage mc muffins, break patties into pieces for breakfast burritos.
Note: original recipe calls for raw garlic. Patties cook too fast and raw garlic is too overpowering.

My 4 Philosophies by Shaan Puri
1) Having an Audience is Like Steroids
2) All News is Good News
3) Work Like a Lion
4) Don’t Sell Saddles

https://preview.redd.it/tkhdcto60h2b1.png?width=558&format=png&auto=webp&s=b41977f48e7449a65f30a91afd9e1132ccd7a0a3

MY AUDIENCE IS MY STEROIDS

If I was you, one of the biggest takeaways of the All Access Pass
is how valuable it is to have an audience.
It makes everything easier.
Don’t know something? Ask twitter.
Want to spread the word? Mention it on the podcast.
Having an audience gives you optionality to build many future
businesses. (including this all access pass).
And that’s with my teeny tiny audience. Imagine if I was actually
famous!
You know how easy it is for Joe Rogan, Naval, Kylie Jenner,
David Dobrik etc.. to launch new projects, or get problems
solved?
It took me 1 year to build my audience. And that was in my
spare time. If I had focused, I could have done it in half the time.
If you don’t know exactly what you want to build, or what
company you want to start....build an audience first.
Build an audience in a topic area you care about, or a group of
people you know well.
It can be a newsletter, a podcast, a YouTube channel etc..
Choose whatever medium is fun for you (because this stuff takes
time, so you better enjoy creating the content).
Now...how to build an audience?
That’s another topic for another day my dear..

All News is Good News

https://preview.redd.it/bnfsa38g0h2b1.png?width=511&format=png&auto=webp&s=da2d6f7a51e844eeb65c873a39fceca14fa297a7
Two big mistakes founders make (that I’ve learned not to
make anymore).
  1. Bad news demoralizes them
  2. Therefore... they subconciously avoid looking in places where
there might be bad news (like, the metrics dashboard)
For us - all news is good news.
When something is working...good news!
When something is not working... good news! we learned
something!
I create a culture where we want to see the data, whether it’s
good, bad or ugly. This creates habits where people seek the
truth (they go look for the data), because we celebrate whatever
the finding is.
And when the news is ‘bad’, we don’t panic or get demoralized.
We focus on the learning. What does this result teach us?
This sounds obvious. This is a lesson I could teach a 3rd grader.
So why is this such a big takeaway?
Because in my experience, 98% of founders don’t operate this
way. They ride an emotional rollercoaster, based on good or bad
news.
Don’t ride the rollercoaster.
Your entrepreneurial life will be more fun and more successful
if you adopt this mantra: All News is Good News.

Work like a LION. Not a COW.

I stole this from Naval.
I heard it and I LOVED it.
Today - we’re trained to work like a cow.
Cows stand in a field all day. Slowly, chewing weak, low nutrient
grass.
Everyday, the same thing, at the same slow pace.
This is how we are trained to work. 9-to-5, Monday-thru-Friday,
50 weeks in a row
Instead - we should work like a LION.
Lions sit. wait. observe. looking for their prey.
When they see it. They SPRINT. Hunt. Catch.
EAT. enjoy. celebrate.
Rest. Relax. Wait for the next juicy prey.
This is how winners work. high intensity, focused on high value
projects. With frequent breaks to rest and recover.
Your boss may not like this. But this is the way.
Work like a LION. Not a Cow.

DON’T SELL SADDLES

Have you ever read the memo the CEO of Slack ($18B) sent his
employees before they launched?
If not, stop reading this and Click the link. Read that shit and
come back. It’s a must-read.
I’ll explain it in stupid simple terms.
If you’re operating in a new/niche market, promote the
lifestyle, not your product.
Put differently - if you’re a company that makes saddles. Rather
than talking about how your saddle is better than other saddles to
a niche market.
...what if you promoted the lifestyle of horseback riding to the
masses instead?
That’s why the CEO of Slack explained: “We don’t sell
saddles here”. Rather than selling their chat app, they sold
the dream of working without so much damn email.
We put this into action while promoting our course.
The course is niche (learning how to buy businesses), so
instead of selling the course - we started promoting badass
entrepreneurs who have done this and built $100M+
empires doing it.
We ignored our saddle (the course) and instead promoted
badass cowboys who ride horses (eg. Chamath, Andrew
Wilkinson, etc..)
Ask yourself. Should we be selling our saddle? Or should
we be selling the dream of horseback riding... and when
they need a saddle, they’ll buy from us.
We Don’t Sell Saddles
