So yes, I don't really know if this can be called a theory, it's more like just my thoughts bunched together, however, it is still the closest concept. I hope you'll enjoy my thoughts.
The game raises a lot of life topics presenting them to us in a distorted way, and sometimes it is not easy to decipher them. But I managed to use some information to interpret the game content. Before reading you must know that everything contained in this text is just a theory, personal guesses and does not claim to be canon. The whole theory is based on the concept "if something exists in the game universe, it also exists in reality." By reality I mean our human mundane reality. Thus all the characters that exist in the phantasmagoric game world are just projections of people and creatures created by Hugos flexible baby mind. The fact is that children aged 3 years just begin to develop long-term memory. In your 4-5 (approximate Hugo's age) you are more likely to remember people you know, other children and adults, rather than cartoons you watched. In fact, sleep is a way for our brain to cope with the impressions of the day. Children do not have a very stable psyche and that is why they often have dreams with various content. Perhaps the part with PIB comic book that Hugo remembered so well probably means that his father gave it to him. Thus, brain generates dreams due to mixed and exaggerated emotions, interaction with different people, phrases the boy heard and so on. For example, the image of background characters such as Elsen could arise due to the familiar sentence "to burn out at work", that means emotional burnout, but Hugo at his his age could take it literally and make poor workers burn alive. That's why their monster form is called "Burnt". The phrase "the stab of happiness" refers to the disclosure of drug addiction topic, which explains what the secret fifth element is - "sugar". It would be easier for a child to perceive white packaged narcotic substance as identical-looking sugar. Let's talk about the boy's family and friends. The main character, Puppet aka the Batter is his father, as many objects and other game characters hint at this point. He is a baseball player or maybe he was into baseball in the past, so he wanted Hugo to follow in his footsteps. For this reason Hugo could remember him as a baseball player. Another proof of why Hugo's son is the moment with the music box. According to the note, one day his father brings him this item, which also contains in our inventory during the game, and we are able to leave it on the bed in Hugo's room. The thing will play a pleasant melody and player will receive an Aura of Ideal. Probably Batter was a bad father, at least we are hinted at it in the game. dad was not too interested in his child and family life, he even could've been an abuser. The Queen, aka Vader Eloha is definitely Hugo's mother, we were directly told about it. The child believes she's nice, but she's often not around. In a relationship with the Batter, it seems that wife trys to be patient, even when he is in a bad mood. The child remembers some of her phrases, for example "Do you want coffee, my love?", "He has your eyes." Perhaps Hugo was quite far from his parents, since their appearance features in the game are quite blurred. "The room" may be an allegory for the hospital where Hugo gets his treatment. At some point we pass through a room resembling a hospital ward with his stuff. Later he appears in a same (but changed) room. It got me thinking about the Elsen we meet in the "room", asking us questions quite similar to those we hear at the hospitals: "how do you feel today?" and so on. In addition to this it can also be assumed that "the room" is a family house and a child's nursery but this is not reinforced with facts. Theres a calendar on the walls with alternating dates that mean something since the child memorized them. The Queen said she baked a big cake for him and maybe one of these dates is Hugo's birthday. He remembers holidays coming soon and how parents are quarreling over a party for him, a certain part of the dialogue between the Batter and the Queen bares resemblance to it. Thus, plenty of things hints at strained relations in the family. About Zacharie. His name can be an abbreviation of the name "Zacharias" in order to make it easier for the child to remember and pronounce. Zacharie can be a family friend. Hugo's parents leave Zach with Hugo as a babysitter, since they are too busy to spend time with him. Though his role as a merchant can extend to reality since it was quite common to run a small business in those years. By those years, I mean the 50-70s in which real events take place. Since the song at the end of the game was written in 40s and the heyday of the popularity of comics happened in 60-80s. Sometimes his speech is replaced with Spanish. Hugo could listen to his conversations with other people and memorize ьsome simple phrases such as "amigo" "buenos días" and so on. His mask may just be a metaphor for "hiding behind a mask", hiding his true emotions in other words. For example when the guardian of the Zone 0 dies, he says "maybe it will be better this way" and just changes the subject. Although we might guess that these two were quite close to each other. But Zacharie's words can be taken out of context because I don't think Sugar could have died in reality. But who knows. Although the game does not contain information about who they are to each other but I am more inclined to believe that they are relatives, presumably brother and sister. But this is just my opinion. About Sugar aka Sucre. This girl suffered from drug addiction, because of her name and the first time we meet her in a sugar cellar. In any case, in the game she is shown to be quite cheerful and less serious than Zacharie. She can also be friends with the family and keep an eye on Hugo as the merchant does. Pablo, Valerie and Jaffet. They can be Zacharie and Sugar's cats, and Japhet is Hugo's bird. Children like to talk to their pets and fantasize about various features, character and so on for them. When we fight Valerie/Jaffet, their reincarnation looks like a huge bird tearing a cat apart. But in the end they both die. In fact, it could look like a cat ate Hugo's bird, which caused the death of both animals: Japhet died because he was eaten and Vallery could simply suffocate with a bird's body or get an inversion of the intestines later. I've read a bit about child psychology and children often exaggerate situations that have had a big impact on them, like the one i just explained. I assume that Dedan/Tall Mister is their neighbor, namely an ordinary farmer because he has paddocks and barns for cows. He doesn't seem to be in very good relations with Hugo's parents (at least with his father), unlike with Hugo himself. And against the background of this I assume characters live somewhere in the province. Enoch/ Big Mister, can be the boss at father's work and that family friend who comes to stay from time to time, brings sweets with him and trys to be nice. If you take a look at the character from the other side, at this point Enoch would fit the role of a drug dealer, since there is a whole sugar factory under his leadership. Towards the end of the game we meet enemies such as secretaries. These are creatures that look like dolls in boxer suits. They, having more HP and damage, are not a courtesy. If you interpret them into reality, they still resemble toys. Sometimes in children's fantasies toys come alive and give their owners a sense of security. In our case Hugo created them to protect him from his own father, as it happens in the game. The reason why the secretaries look like boxers can be explained by PIB comics influenced on the young reader. Probably the Boxer, the main character, was loved by the boy which is why he awarded the secretaries with boxing suits. But let's not forget about another comic character - Ballman, who (just like the Batter) is a baseball player. This similarity is inherent in them due to the fact that Hugo sees the Batter as villian. And yet...what is the main point? We know that Hugo's sick, but we don't know with what disease. Some people believe that the disease is leukemia or some similar incurabledisease which can be confirmed by further information about his condition. From his words we can get the fact that the boy stopped taking prescribed pills which of course negatively affected on him.щ And this may be one of the reasons that caused a comatose state of any severity. It has already been proven that people in a coma are able to hear everything that happens near them. Due to these circumstances, Hugo's body is supported by a life support device and since his brain has started to shut down he may be disconnected from the device by the doctors. And if this is wont happen it will prolong the child and his loved ones' suffering. Possibly specters are also images of people Hugo remembered not that clearly due to his state, so they could become characters in his world of imagination. Judging by the conversation between the Batter and the Queen in the game, it is possible to admit real life's mother was against Hugo being cut off from life-support machine. But the father understands this will be the only way out. There is another suggestion of the real Zacharie had a mask something like a medical one. For this reason many people think he was Hugo's attending physician. It was quite odd that Zacharie was in "the room", even considering that he is the essential game merchant. And I don't think Hugo could have think up what he tells us there because children (even those gifted ones like our boy) can't know Latin. But there may be such a logical explanation for this - Zacharie was in the hospital at that moment to support the father of the family. His words are quite suitable for this situation. Maybe Hugo heard them from outside the ward. "bis Vincit, qui se Vincit in Victoria" Which translates as "the best victory is a victory over oneself." Which refers to what is written above. After all, let's admit it is psychologically difficult enough to disconnect your dying son from a life support device. The fact of killing characters in the game may be an allegory on Hugo begining to forget people and events associated with them. Apparently the game endings are the choice of Hugo's father in the real world: disconnect the child from the life support system or leave him in a coma until the darkness completely engulfs him. So the Batter says: "I'm here. From now on there will be no darkness." And in the true finale he nevertheless decides to turn off the switch. That's why the game is called that.
Everything in the game is pretty messy, but it fits pretty well doesn't it?

I have a measure that displays selected value. How do I incorporate this measure into the visualisation title? I'd like the title to reflect the year selected. Or is there another way of doing this?

So to give some context, around November of last year I almost had a gut wrenching experience with my laptop. One day i get automatic download notifications where files from my browser automatically downloaded. And this was also a time when my telegram, instagram, gmail all were vulnerable to grabbing passwords. My telegram account completely got hacked and what looked like the text was russian. Same thing happened to instagram. And my gmail went bonkers warning me off different email address being vulnerable and sent me unusual warnings for suspicious log in attempts. Luckily I ran a system scan with my windows defender (yes I didn't have another AV at that time), and it signaled the intrusion of a trojan ransomware. I immediately formatted my system since I didn't really have any important files or anything. And downloaded Bitdefender and ran multiple scans and was on the clear.
Today I got a bit curious about that situation cuz while I knew I had a virus in my system, I didn't exactly know where or how I got it. I still had those jjww files and the readmetext files. It was a syzs_dl_svr. exe file in a DL folder. So I went to check when this file was dated on. It showed fucking 2020 as the date. I checked couple of posts here about this ransomware and many suggested it was a trojan virus from the emulator game loop and the rainmeter application. By the way I had both of them in 2020 and deleted them the subsequent year. So it checks all the boxes. I got this ransomware three years ago but my files only got encrypted last year.
So why did it take so long to encrypt my files? Also does this virus only encrypt files and ask for bitcoin to decrypt or does it do more than that like a spyware and collect date through the internet?
Also I would have posted pictures and proof, but I have literally everything deleted since I don't want to take any risk

I don't exactly know how to describe how I feel. A potluck of anger, sorrow, confusion, anxiety, and hope is the closest I can get to truly describing how I feel. So much of myself and my current situation in life makes me feel terrible and is driving me into a deeper depression than I've been in and have genuinely no clue on what to do. I guess the best way to get it all out is just to go through it all, so:
To preface, some information: 19M. I go to counseling. I struggle with suicidality and depression and have for many, many years. I think I might be autistic but I don't know if so and I don't know what to do to test for it. I'm bisexual. I'm currently unemployed but looking for a job (unenthusiastically). I am not religious. I am freshly graduated from high school.
For starters, me, much of myself I'm confused about. I would say I have a solid understanding of myself, but a deeper part of me still doesn't know who I am. Gender is a good example of this. I'm AMAB, but I don't feel I align with being male; yet, I don't feel I align with being female. I don't feel that I'm non-binary, nor agender. I almost feel as if I'm both. I know that I shouldn't label it as that's putting it into a box, but I feel uncomfortable with the fact that I'm unsure on as to who I am. I have basic things that I like and could characterize myself with, but these are nothing more than things I like. I don't feel I know who I am.
I build up so much self-hatred and anxiety and have no control over this. I can be in a calm state, but one little thing reminds me of my struggles and within moments, my mind will barrel into all my darker thoughts and immediate suicidality sets in. It will build up, I'll mentally shut down and disassociate, and it will kill mood for however long it lasts (sometimes just an hour, sometimes a whole week). I fear so much and either don't have enough confidence, energy, or knowledge to confront them. Examples of these are: an immense fear of confrontation, I shut down upon any negative confrontation and all of a sudden, it feels as if I'm 10 again and a parent is scolding me and I can't do anything; an immense fear of failure, simply the thought of ending up an old, bigoted person who has nothing to show for their life and having accomplished none of their dreams absolutely terrifies me to a point of mental breakdown, and is the reason why I've decided to try and make changes; and a few more that I won't be going too into as this is already really long and don't want to make it too miserable to read; a fear of being judged, a fear of loneliness, and a fear of change. All this just seems to flood my thoughts all the time, creating an overarching dark cloud of my thoughts.
I struggle to open up and be honest. This post is an example of that, as this is one of the only instances I've actually had the ability to truly say how I feel. My family is very "traditional" (AKA, very bigoted) and emotions were very often suppressed, and some of my friends are of this same demeanor. I have tried to discuss some more personal feelings with friends and family but have unanimously been met with them ignoring me, changing the subject, or responding with a half-assed answer that doesn't mean anything. My friends who are more understanding do sympathize, but again offer no real help outside of cookie-cutter answers. I know this fear stems from these events, but it's been troubling as I struggle to truly open up to counselors, people lending a hand to help, and just be honest with my intentions. From struggling to ask for comfort when I'm struggling with very dark thoughts, to telling a store clerk that I'm okay whenever they ask if I need help finding something even though I can't find what I'm looking for. That is also another issue I feel I struggle with: a feeling that I myself need to do everything and must do it alone. I go to counseling but it's been tough to go, both because of this struggle to open up with myself and it's expensive since I have no insurance.
A lack of social connection has been a major tumor on my sanity. I feel so isolated. I live in southwest Florida and I live in a house that's really far from town. It's in the woods and an hour drive anywhere I go, but it's not like I have anywhere to go. To pile onto this, majority of my friends live so far away that I can't do anything with them (and the ones that are somewhat close either make me uncomfortable to be around or keep avoiding my offers to hang out). I often find myself feeling really lonely all the time. I talk to them online often, but due to their lives they aren't able to chat so often. Another aspect that's made me feel isolated is the people I live with. I live with my grandma and my brother, both of which I get along with fine, but I can't help but feel like they don't really care for me that much. Neither show any emotional connection, and I feel as if they only care about their perception of me rather than me, if that makes sense. With my friends being distant socially and physically, and my family being so different and emotionally dead makes it rough.
I have terrible social anxiety too. I get really scared to talk to people, and heavily struggle to make conversation. I want to make friends, but it feels so difficult to keep up a conversation and to talk to them again later on. I know it's not hard. If someone starts talking to me, I can sometimes make it work no problems. I sometimes surprise myself with how fluid and calm I can be when put in a situation of open conversation, but it's so terrifying to start it every time even though I know it's not hard. God forbid I find someone attractive, because mustering up the courage to say something could only done through a push from a friend. I often begin to shut down sometimes with friendships and will want to talk to someone, and think about them, but never do anything about it, and time will move on and they will move on, and a lost opportunity occurs.
Another aspect is because of the place I live in. With such a terrible drive and a town and place and I hate, I can't help but look around and dislike this place. I am someone who despises American infrastructure and cars. I hate corporatism and suburbia that plagues the US. I often see copy-and-paste houses that are way too expensive, with extensive roads of nothing, and a plaza of stores and nothing else around here. I dislike the way things are designed and I'm reminded of this every time I leave the house. There is a segment of the town I love due to its walkable and people-centric design, but that's so far away from where I live, and way too expensive to ever live near there for the near minimum wage job I'll soon have. I wish to move somewhere else that isn't suburbia hellscape, preferably outside of the United States, but I don't know how to even begin that process. I understand that I have to live with it for now, and that there isn't anything I can do about that, but it just frustrates me.
Tying into what I previously said, I feel like I cannot do anything on my own. I struggle to figure out how to do anything, minor to major. A recurring example is a haircut. I need a haircut, I know that I can make a reservation, or walk-in, just a phone call or drive, and what do I want? A simple trimming of my hair to keep it healthy, but I struggle to begin doing it. A more major example is beginning to make a plan to move to a new city, state, or country. I can look up how to and get in-depth guides on how to, but due to the work and information, it just becomes so intense of a thought that my brain shuts down when reading and I lose all attention. The more major, usually the easier my mind falls apart. I feel incompetent in my own endeavors to do anything, from simply folding the laundry that's been piled on my chair for a couple days to making plans for my dreams (I would love to work in the film industry as a screenwriter, director, or really just anything in the field. I have many, many ideas for what I'd wish to produce with great detail but struggle to apply for colleges). I feel like I can't do anything on my own. It took me a week to build up the confidence to write this out, as I've never posted on Reddit before and get nervous about these types of things anyways.
A bit of a rapid-fire of other struggles as this is already stupid long: I've never had a romantic relationship before and that kind of weights on conscious a little bit; I can barely get my sleep schedule together, as later in the night feels less stressful and so it incentivizes my mind to stay up, but I wake up pretty late as a result; I struggle to get out of bed every morning and lie there for an hour to an hour and a half each morning before getting up; and there's probably some more I can't of right now because I'm tired.
This is a hell of a lot of text. I'm sorry about that. I have felt like I'm spiraling into an extremely deep depression and no one seems to listen or care and I won't be able to see my counselor for another 2 weeks and just need someone to throw me a lifebuoy as I drown. This feels as if it's too personal for here, I don't know, but frankly, I don't know what else to do.

TLDR: I've been working hard to get my life together and feel unsupported by my boyfriend, who is also a bit of a mess, and am beginning to worry he's not ready for the kind of relationship we've been building.
Apologies in advance, this is my first time posting something like this anywhere and I'm just lost at this point. My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half, and this is the longest relationship I've ever held and the most serious one he's ever held. There have been a few bumps along the way with some communication issues (he had a bad habit of vanishing from text conversations for hours unannounced and I had a bad habit of not speaking up when things like that bothered me) but for the most part we've both been really receptive to each other's needs and concerns.
Except on one issue. He is very forgetful. This sparked some fights when he'd forget we had plans and then make new plans with someone else on top of ours, not request off work for pre-planned trips/events, and forgetting past talks where expectations were established until he's called out for not meeting them. It's a recurring problem that comes up almost once a month at this point, and it's started to make me wary of planning things together because I don't feel like there's a certainty of him following through.
Lately (about the last 4 months or so) I've also felt just sort of left to handle things on my own. The first time was when we went to Pride together last year. I had gotten my company at the time to run a booth at the festival and donate the proceeds to a local youth group and was scheduled to work the booth for the later half of the festival. Well, he had forgotten to request off so he had to work that morning making him miss the parade (where I marched with my coworkers) and be late to the festival. He was also picking up and bringing some friends so by the time he got there we had maybe 3 hours to spend together.
Once he actually arrived at the festival grounds, we met up with his friends and focused primarily on them. I'm not really sure how else to describe it other than it was him hanging out with his friends while I was nearby. When I did finally have to go work the booth, I'd asked him if he could stop by one of the food vendors and pick me up some dinner. He said yes. Well, after that he and his friends left the festival to go sit down at a pizza place and eat. I didn't see him again until the festival was over (several hours later).
There have been a few other instances of this sorta of surface-level support from him. When I was sick with a stomach bug, he had to leave because the sound of my vomiting was giving him sensory overload, which was stressful enough on its own for me, but he was also crying about having to leave and essentially putting me in a position to feel compelled to alleviate some guilt he was feeling (while I was actively getting sick in between my words.)
Most recently, I moved from an apartment to a house with my dad (certain circumstances irrelevant to the relationship make this the best living situation for everyone) and we'd specifically picked a day of the week to move that my boyfriend would be off work. He swears he told me he was going to spend that day by himself taking care of some housekeeping stuff (which he admits he forgot about the move in that scenario but insists that I told him it was okay). This only came to light when he informed me, the day before my move, that he was hanging out with a friend the next day and wouldn't be responsive on text. This is the only instance that I got fully and genuinely angry over. I can remember a very similar conversation we had the week prior when I was simply cleaning up to prepare for the move, in which he did ask for that day to himself and I said okay to. I don't see any scenario where I would've been okay with him just flaking on helping me move (without him it was just my dad and myself moving from a 2nd floor apartment). He also solely focused on that defense whenever we had our fight about it. From my perspective, the only difference it makes whether he remembers correctly or not is that I should've gotten mad a week before the actual fight.
After that last fight (it happened about two weeks ago) things have felt disconnected. It feels like he's treating this as a casual relationship rather than the serious one where we were planning on moving in together when his lease is up. Even this week, I mentioned that I was going to do some unpacking and cleaning around the house and he was free to come help if he wanted, but that I'd rather do it alone if he was going to need to basically tell him step-by-step what to do (apparently "get things out of the boxes and onto the floor" wasn't direct enough.") He said it was probably best that I did it alone then, which while I do appreciate him being honest about that, it's made me start to really evaluate how much support I receive in this relationship and how satisfied I am in it.
All of my past breakups were over like genuinely crummy stuff the other person did (or myself a few times, we've all made mistakes). I don't think he's a bad guy for anything here, maybe a bit inconsiderate at worst, but that's honestly making me so much more confused. I know I'm not happy with how things are, but I don't really know what to do from here. I feel like I've tried explaining to him my needs in so many different ways, and he always says I make sense when I ask if he needs clarification.

I'm not sure what to do here, and I know the post was a bit rambling, but I didn't really know how else to describe what's going on without it coming across as vilifying him. I do love this man, and even if we aren't going to work out, I have no regrets about our relationship. I've grown a lot during it and I've enjoyed most of our time together until recently. I ordered the game online but I received a French copy of the game. Does this French copy come with the English text included?
I can see on the box it says (in French): Voices in Japanese and English, text in French. However, it also says Logiciel (translation I believe?): EN, DE, FRE, ES, IT which seems to suggest it should be OK.
Does anyone have a confirmation on this before I remove the seal?

I reported a post for breaking a subreddit’s rule of “No memes, shitposts or low effort posts such as marketplace screen shots, receipts, etc.”, which has clarification text adding “No memes, shitposts or low effort posts such as marketplace screen shots, receipts, EBay or other auction listings, etc. Please use [other subreddit] for memes.” However, I later received an automated message from the site admins saying that I had reported the post for “Prohibited transaction”, which doesn’t really correspond with the subreddit rule. I do know that some subreddit rule violation reports are sent to the admins as reports for similar sitewide rule violations, but the “No memes…” rule and the Prohibited Transaction rule seem rather dissimilar and I don’t see any particular keyword in the phrasing of the subreddit rule which would link it to the sitewide rule.
The few theories that I could come with are:

• The admins manually connected the subreddit rule to the irrelevant sitewide rule for some unclear reason
  
• Despite the dissimilarity between the subreddit rule and the sitewide rule, the subreddit rule may contain some keyword or other info which automatically links the subreddit rule to the Prohibited Transaction sitewide rule.
  
• There may have previously been a subreddit rule which did pertain to the Prohibited Transactions rule, but recent changes to the subreddit rules made this connection no longer current, yet the trigger between the subreddit rule and the sitewide rule remained
  
• There may have been some bug on my app in which the report option that I was shown selecting did not match what I was actually selecting
  
• I was somehow mistaken about what report option I selected but I really don’t think this was the case given that the options are on separate menu screens.
  

The mods of the sub seem unable to retrieve the report log for the post that I reported, supposedly due to the OP deleting the post before the mods/admins could remove it; if the report log where to show at least one “No memes…” subreddit rule report and zero “Prohibited Transaction” report, then that would confirm that I did submit the intended report.
If you can shed any light on this situation, that would be appreciated! I’m not particularly bothered by the erroneous automated message that I received; I’m more so curious about why it occurred and interested in avoiding further false positive reports sent to the admins as well as avoiding any potential consequences for users who find themselves in a similar situation.

I would like to preface that I'm new to this subreddit. I had checked it out before, but it was too hard for me to read the posts and comments, either because it hit too close to home or because it felt too heavy. And sorry for the wall of text, I would like to thank everyone who reads this in advance.
First, I need to introduce my mom and her situation a bit: She is 68 years old and has had renal cell cancer (kidney cancer) for 4 years. They had cut part of her kidney out four years ago, but didn't get everything, and now it's spreading around her back and essentially attacking her spine. The situation has gotten a lot worse in the past 5 months and she is talking about leaving earlier through Exit (Swiss organisation that helps you and accompanies you with dying, basically a controlled medical suicide). She's in a lot of pain and she has a lot of side effects from pain killers and cancer medication.
Now, of course, her declining health is very hard for me to deal with, I'm very sad and angry. It's so depressing to see her having so little energy, she was always such an active person, teaching, creating art, travelling, going to the opera or museums, and now she says she only has energy for one hour of the day. I feel sorry for her and I'm scared of her situation worsening. I'm barely keeping my shit together and I think I wouldn't be able to if I didn't have boxing (I train and coach several times a week).
But the way she talks to me is just as unbearable as her condition. To give some context: she lives close to the lake and is part of a rowing club (basically a small clubhouse with direct lake-access) and she wants me to become a member as well. Last week she wrote me "you have to apply now", since they are going to have their general meeting soon and after that, I'd have to wait a year.
I am very overwhelmed with her situation and work has been tough as well the past few weeks, so I had just sent her a draft of my application and told her, she'd have to apply for me if she really wants it. Before that, I thought I would let her have the mental picture of me being there, thinking of her. But I just felt too stressed when she basically wrote "do this now!!". Then she called me, asking if I didn't care about this rowing club, and I told her I just don't have the mental capacity right now, after which she almost started crying, saying she has no energy as well, etc. But she kind of got it that I didn't really care about becoming a member.
This was last Thursday. I've been thinking I need like some sort of a vacation from her and from her situation for some time now. She calls me several times a week and it always feels like I'm getting dumped on (she also speaks really loudly as well and almost never let's me talk or asks how I am); it's always about how she has no energy and no appetite and she talks real negatively about everyone including my gf. And it was mostly like that before she was sick, now it's just gotten a little worse and it's a lot harder to interrupt her or end a call, because I would feel bad and/or she would start to cry!
So I thought I would just kind of take the weekend off mentally, which I did. Saturday 10 pm (I was very drunk) she texted me, and on Sunday she tried to call. I didn't react, because I just had very little energy myself and thought I would call her back on Monday and offer to come by and buy groceries and cook for her. (I've been visiting her and taking care of her once or mostly twice a week the past few months.) She already had someone over, and told me I wouldn't need to come by so I thought we are good.
Yesterday she calls me and basically let's me know how offended she is that I didn't care about this rowing club and that she feels like I wouldn't care about anything she cares about. And she also let me know that she finds it unacceptable that I didn't answer her text and call. And then she told me she's thinking about giving the two houses she owns away, because she felt I wouldn't care. I'm just so angry, I had a really violent and negative dream last night as well. I feel like absolute shit. I don't want to be treated this way, but it would be stupid to lash out and really be disinherited. I feel more powerless than I would feel anyway.:(
She had already told my dad (they are separated) once that she would give the houses away, after my gf and I uninvited her for Christmas. That's a different story (and her condition was not nearly as severe as now), but to summarize, she was really unkind and uncooperative about Christmas dinner and said I was lazy because I wanted to make Raclette (my gf is vegetarian; my mom wanted us to take care of cooking). And she was totally fine with Raclette at first!! She just put it in her head that it had to be something more fancy! And she didn't have stomach pain or issues eating back then either (even though she says so now)! I am still happy with the decision of uninviting her, it felt like a real moment of emancipation.
For some background: I've only had a decent relationship with her after I had moved out at 23 (I'm 31 now). My teenage years were very difficult. I was very difficult, I smoked a lot of weed, almost dropped out of school, and I was unemployed for like half a year after finishing school. But she was always very controlling and we had so many fights. She didn't give me the space I needed and I know she wanted me to go in a creative direction as well (she was an art teacher before she retired) and while I do feel like I was gifted, I stopped drawing at around 12 because I couldn't do my own expectations justice. So after some rough early twenties, I ended up in IT, where I'm happy enough. I think she would still feel I'm a disappointment if I didn't work at a nice firm and if I didn't earn as much as I do.
It felt good to write all of this down. I hope I wasn't too incoherent and I would again like to thank everyone who took the time to read this. Much strength to all of you!

There are many reasons to complain about the new ranked system. We've seen all the memes and posts about ratting and that's the easy answer. I actually like the hectic final rings but it dawned on me what makes this season so boring.
Like the title suggests, there is simply no difficulty curve. As a disclaimer, my personal goal is to reach diamond each season I'm playing Apex. During past seasons, after taking a break from the game the climb from Bronze to Diamond was fun. From Bronze to Gold the games were chill and felt like a breeze beside the occasional smurfs. Platinum had players who already knew how to play the game and Diamond got genuinely hard as it paired against Masters and Preds.
This season, from the provisional games that placed me in Bronze, all the way to Platinum where I currently sit, the games have always been the same. I've been matched with Masters and Preds from the beginning so the whole climb feels meaningless. Yeah one could argue that the Rank has always been just a number, but in the past you could feel the matches gradually changing for the harder as you climbed up making it feel like you achieved something.

Hi all, I have BB TT, which I have about 40 products covered from this years purchases. I maintain it yearly but the only service I’ve used is Apple care for the multiple devices I buy yearly. I went to a store and to purchase Sony HT-A9 speaker system because although it wasn’t in stock within stores 250 miles it was available online, but there wasn’t an option to schedule installation. I was told certain products like open box items can’t be ordered by them and I’d have to do it online and then I could call total tech to schedule an appt for install, and it would be covered as long as I didn’t receive it yet. Scheduled the appt only to wait many days and find out that despite the 888 rep understanding and confirming it would be covered, the type of appt that was scheduled was not linked to my free TT purchase. After hours and several phone calls I’m told it cannot be done by customer service for anything open box and that essentially no suggestion despite the fact I cannot find a way to get this done. I have confirmed that yes, open box products do get free install just as new products, I see on the app and receipt they are covered, but the website says when I purchase the same product to make sure to select install on the next screen in check out, but that screen doesn’t show up.
Anyhow sorry for the block of text, would anyone have any suggestion is this a known issue? I can’t think of a way to rectify this short of returning my product to a shore and waiting for it to be restocked and then buying it again from that store where I know I can schedule install if the open box is there, bc I did that for my a95k Bravia two months ago(Although ultimately was impatient and did the service myself). Unfortunately, this particular install is more difficult, especially without going and buying several tools. TYIA!

Hi. So, I'm currently a 2nd year college student and there's been this one thing hanging on my chest lately.
basically, I have a friend whom I considered to be great friends with. We would share our daily together and talk for hours. But due to my anti social self, I am unable hold out a conversation(I'm trying to get better at making convos now) so My friend mostly do the talking.
Now I never thought of this as a problem until recently, I begin to notice that our friendship has gotten to the point, we only talk rarely(once a month?) We stopped sending each other memes, talking about daily life, etc. I want to talk with them but I feel like this situation seems a bit unfair since they now only chat if they want something(like lectures). Those texts make me doubt myself on whether this friendship is really over.
I want to try talking to them but I feel like it would ruin everything we had. Any advice on whether to continue this friendship or not?

BF had a puppy for a couple weeks and was overwhelmed and couldn’t handle the puppy. He gave it to his roommate / friend after a couple weeks. He then got a different puppy 2 weeks later and still has that dog. I don’t know why, sounded like he was going through some things at that time. This was like 7 years go. He lived with that friend and both puppies for 2.5 years.
Fast forward to now- OG puppy has a tumor in his leg and now has about 4 weeks to live the vet says.
Bf and I are mutual friends with a couple. He works with her, and golfs with him. He sees them more than I do. I am friends with them through a gym in the past I used to go too. This couple got married last weekend, bf previously had RSVPed yes to going then later pivoted because he said he had to go visit OG puppy and his friend out of state and the only weekend he can go is the weekend of the wedding. He apparently couldn’t go the following weekend because of a family wedding (hasn’t seen this cousin in 10 years but says he can’t miss because “it’s family”). And all other weekends he was traveling out of state or working.
I still went, I had enough friends from both sides it wouldn’t be a big deal to go alone. Multiple people between bfs friends and my friends tell me “tell your bf you say screw you” and “wtf your bf ditched you for a dog??” Some of his friends were joking apparently. He also posted on his IG that story photos of himself traveling out of state and off roading with friends. Apparently the dog likes off roading.
I spiraled a bit and iced him that night and told him I felt very humiliated the next day. He told me no one meant it and his friends were kidding. He then asked me why I didn’t stick up for him. He later apologizes for this statement. He continues to tell me no one was upset that he wasn’t there and sends a screen shot of a conversation between him and groom asking if the groom was upset he didn’t go. The groom says no. Groom night of wedding told me he was very upset with bf for not coming and said idc if you tell him this even. So different stories from the same person there but probably because he has bigger fish to fry and he was a little toasted by the end of the night because fuck yea he just got married. Bf does apologize saying he did not intend to put me in a situation like that.
Next day we are talking and I’m voicing how upset I am. I’m refusing to take his call because I just don’t feel like I even have words to say? He keeps asking via text if we are breaking up(i think his anxiety was bad at this point and he just wanted a yes or no answer so he could either worry or not worry? I’m not sure). I text him that I’m trying to figure out if I can come back from this. He asks two more times via text so I texted back “fine. I’m done. “
So. Am I the asshole for breaking up with my bf over text due to a dog? Additional info: I know he will want to talk Thursday and likely try to convince me to stay. Am I being irrational or am I just “Bird boxing” my way through this relationship ignoring every red flag.
Two things that have really bothered me other than this wedding that lead to me just ending it as well:

1. Took him two years to tell me he loved me. I told him like 8 months into dating and he didn’t say it back. I cried a lot. He said he just had a thing about saying it but I should know how he felt. Last winter I was finally done waiting and broke it off and then he started love bombing me (I called him out for it and he apologized and stopped) - we talked and of course resumed relationship.
   
2. He keeps being upset with me that I keep saying I don’t want to move in with him. I see my home currently as my security blanket. I’m terrified of ever having to move out of a persons house again and starting over. I finally started thinking of giving in recently and talked about it a little and he didn’t say much. Of note:
   

2a. In 3 years we have never met each others parents. He told me at one point his mother didn’t know about me. Therefore I didn’t see a point in introducing my parents. He has met my BIL and sister and we used to enjoy double dates together. His father lives overseas and knows of me. I am quiet or he walks into another room to talk to his mom if she calls. She calls and texts daily. They both seem to have a lot of anxiety compared to myself.
2b. He lives I a one bedroom apartment and I live in a studio. He has a dog and I have a dog and a cat. And he’s planning on buying a house next year. Both places currently too small to cohabite.
Like. I should dump his ass right? I keep making excuses for him. For example his friend was in the military so maybe he has ptsd and he knows it will be really hard for him? Also dogs are the best. So I feel like a real cold hearted bitch for being upset about being ditched for a poor doggo with terminal cancer.
