I had bought 3 Fuze half gram cartridges & 2 grams of Fuze Concentrates on Friday May 26th.
Banana Cookies, C3BO, & Sour Alien cartridges.
Opened the Banana Cookies cartridge first & wasn’t impressed at all. It tasted way too perfume like. Not sure what’s wrong with it but it doesn’t taste good at all like I’m inhaling a nasty soap/essential oil & effects are lacking for a full LR. Honestly the cartridge in my eyes is a low 3/10 in terms of taste and potency. Debating on throwing out.
C3BO I opened second. Also not impressed at all. Faint lemon taste then it all goes downhill. The taste drops off into this mustiness. It’s just not a pleasant vape at all & harsh. Effects aren’t there for being full LR. Color is super dark, while I don’t mind that too much especially if it tastes really good I can look past it being a darker amber color. Unfortunately this doesn’t taste good at all, plus the effects are also lacking. This cartridge to me is at a 3/10 in terms of taste & potency. Debating on throwing out.
Opened sour alien cartridge third, it wasn’t any much better than the first two unfortunately. It tastes like sweet & sour, soil/earthiness. But not in a good way, in the earthy department. I am very dissatisfied with this one as well. Kinda similar to the Durban poison cartridge from Matrix but a major downgrade because of the soil taste/harshness. This one I’d rate a 3.5/10 just not good at all. Very low-mid quality. Definitely not what I expected from a full LR. Debating on throwing out.
Also I know I am not overheating the hardware/oil. I have a special variable battery set at 2.0-2.4v for all the carts which should be low enough to not burn the LR. This has worked fine on past Fuze carts. Still getting undesirable effects/taste on all three however.
Garlic Juice LR Sugar, & Tahoe Mint Kush LR Sugar.
I have some positive feedback, on the Garlic Juice LR Sugar. It is a decent smoke. Effects are much better than the carts/other concentrate. The taste is a bit muted though with fruit/funk background. I had bought the garlic juice cartridge few months back and I thought it was amazing effects/flavovapor production. This reminds me of that but a bit downgraded in terms of effects/potency. This I’d give a 6.5/10 it almost hits 7/8 if it had better smell initially when opening the jar and smoked a little smoother. Material is stuck on top of lid loss of product. Wasn’t stored/packed correctly.
Lastly I opened the Tahoe Mint Kush, it has a minty & waxy/fruit smell to it. Kinda like a fruit stripe. Smells pretty nice, however it smoked pretty bad. Tasted like nutrients fishy kinda and gave me a headache. Not very pleased with this one at all was expecting better from a Tahoe OG kush unfortunately this had a bad flavor to it and really has me not wanting to go back for more. Some material is also stuck on lid & loss of product. Wasn’t stored/packed correctly.
Unfortunately I cannot see myself buying Fuze again after this & other bad experiences. Or at least until the quality control/consistency is of the utmost importance. I don’t like what I’m seeing and what I’m smoking on.
I didn’t fully enjoy any of these products.

So, as a preface, my college offers first years a research/internship opportunities during the summer. So far, two professors have emailed me, the first being a professor (who was very kind) and detailed to me that he would have me and two other students work on a project involving a large dataset and learn how a data science project should be conducted alongside its tools and impact. I have no experience in DS but I do want to have my hand in the DS cookie jar yknow. The second professor reached out to me and described their position as designing a functioning website with a UI framework and typescript. Only thing is that I already have experience with the its tech stack. Both opportunities are full time, hybrid and seemingly low stress. Should I take the web development gig to get a big scale project of tools I already know or try the DS position?

2023.05.30 20:36 hickernator2 In hindsight, Donald Pleasance the wrong choice for Blofeld in You Only Live Twice

Before I get started with my reasoning, I just want to clarify a few points.
  1. I absolutely love Donald Pleasance as an actor. He is easily in my Top 10 list of actors. His Columbo performance is iconic, as his portrayal of Sam Loomis in Halloween. And that is not even counting his roles in films like The Great Escape, The Caretaker, The Prince of Darkness. I could go on and on and on.
  2. His portrayal of Blofeld is iconic. It paved the way of stereotypical Bond Villains and villains in general. When people think Bond Villain, Pleasance’s Blofeld is the one that comes to mind.
With these caveats out the way, I still think that, though I adore Pleasance, his Blofeld, though sinister, is miscast.
My reasoning for this?
From Russia With Love and Thunderball.
In these two Bond movies, we establish Blofeld, from the glimpses we see, as a man somewhat tall in stature, with a full head of hair, wearing a dark suit, late middle aged with a deep, ominous voice.
Whilst Pleasance’s Blofeld works well in the context of You Only Live Twice being a standalone movie, after watching FRWL and Thunderball, you do feel slightly jarred by the stark difference of Blofeld, so much so that you question whether Blofeld really is Blofeld or is just a double.
In many ways, I feel that it would have been great to have had Eric Pohlmann having returned as the voice of Blofeld for YOLT, and as the physical actor, I do have one person in mind whom I feel could have made a great Blofeld, both in presence and in suaveness, as the FRWL Blofeld certainly possesses.
Roger Delgado.
Delgado would have been a fantastic Blofeld and, though may not have captured the iconic look of Pleasance’s Blofeld, continuity wise and, certainly performance wise, Delgado’s Blofeld would’ve been very memorable. It is almost certain too that he would’ve returned for OHMSS too, providing a nice throughline between the movies.

last two pickups have been absolute fire. First one, for the 4/20 sale I hit up DoomsDay. I won't review everything I go from him, but the Rainbow Truffles, White Nightmare, and Cookie Breath were all phenomenal smokes. If I have one complaint, i feel like I coughed more than normal smoking and vaping this bud - which i'm not a big fan of. Really enjoy a smooth hit where i'm not coughing so much. Outside of that, the buds were huge, stinky, terpy, white ash burn with the terps bleeding through the paper very nicely. Overall, 8/10 experience and would definitely go back. Really want to try the White Truffle. Everything I got seemed like it was well grown, trimmed, and cured. Minus an uptick in coughing , stellar pick up.

Once I cleared all those jars, I reached out to Clouded Valley and Fraktal. I've been scooping from CV for about a year now, and have never tried Fraktal. After hearing so many good things about Fraktal, I had to include them in my next pickup. First stop was Clouded, super convenient as usual. Always a pleasant experience picking up from Clouded Valley, and if you haven't yet, please check him out. Always has a fresh round of the fire in maine in rotation. Very rarely am I let down, and this time was no different. I grabbed 1 ounce, half being Mentations GMO and the other half being the Gorilla Glue #4 from Hashworks. Both were great but this batch of GMO was absolute fire. I've grabbed it before and it was super dry and wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it should be. Complete turnaround this time. First time I think I picked up a strain and am now motivated to just have this in stock at all times.; as in, always in rotation for me. It's great medicine. The Gorilla Glue was amazing. Not as smelly like some of the other GGs i've picked up in the past, but the bag appeal was 9/10. Nicely grown buds; super sticky and nice to break up and roll up into a joint. You could really feel the days anxiety leave your body after ripping this one through. Sad to see my last little bud of this today waking up.

Next up, Fraktal. Man was I impressed. They definitely seem to lean more on the Sativa side of things with lemon and citrusy strains and it was great to have that to balance out the heavy Indica's I got from Clouded. Ended up going with their Pheno Hunt and I really enjoyed everything. Most notably, the Laotion Kush was one of the creamiest citrussy terp's i've ever had. It brought me right back to my college days in Vermont that were flooded with great Sour Diesel and Chem strains. They really have this type of bud dialed in, and do a great job on it. The pheno hunt ounce was 8 jars and I was sad running out of each one. It was really nice to mix and match buds when rolling joints. The Sativa effects were great. After each inhale/exhale, my day got brighter and brighter and made staring off into my backyard quite nice and peaceful. Really balanced and brought no unwanted anxiety like some Sativa's do to me. All top notch.
Across all the stuff I got, here is my list from best to worst. Last 2 being the ones I really didn't care for. Everything else was quite enjoyable and tough to place on this list.
